Sony BCG-34HLD4EN Battery Charger

Got mine within 2 days but unfortunately it was faulty. I had to call just once, got replacement call within 24 hours. Today after 3 days I received my replacement.

I have just charged the batteries once, I left in the night and slept, the charger got auto cutoff on complete charge.

I have been using this product for last few weeks. Flipkart delivered the order within 2 days!! The batteries have been used in camera flash and gave almost 300 shots after the initial charge. They also last more than twice as long in battery operated toys etc. compared to the Alkaline ones I was using earlier. It takes about 8 hours to fully charge the 4x2500mAh AA batteries after heavy discharge. Normal charging takes 4-6hrs. I tried charging carbon-zinc, alkaline and lithium batteries but the charger gave a warning by blinking the orange LED. This is good feature to avoid damage to charger and batteries. The power cord is short which can be a problem if you do not have something to place the charger on after plugging it in. Leaving it hanging to the power socket may not be safe if you have kids around. I would have liked to see some sort of battery tester built in to the charger that could show the status of individual battery before and after the charging. It will be helpful to indicate an ageing set of batteries. Leaving the batteries in the charger when not charging will slowly drain the batteries so either remove them from charger after a full charge or give a top-up charge often. Overall a great product for the price.

I ordered one for me and received it in 2 days as usual. The battery charger comes with 4 Sony Cycle Energy batteries.

Positive points:
1. You get 4 batteries with this pack.
2. You can charge any type of batteries (AA or AAA)
3. You can even charge from 1-4 batteries at a time. No need to charge only 4 batteries together. It is rechargeable combination free charger.
4. The charger and the batteries don't get heated much as in the case of other chargers and rechargeable batteries.
5. Comes at a reasonable price.
6. Finds if there is any fault in the batteries or whether the batteries are not rechargeable or the batteries are not properly inserted into the charger etc etc. The LED indicator starts to blink in such cases.
7. You can charge up to 2700mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries.

Negative points:
1. The power cord is hardly 1 foot in length.
2. There is no indication to show that the batteries are charged.

So these are the only positive and negative points according to me. Hope you find them helpful.

I bought Sony battery charger (Sony BCG-34HLD4EN) 2 weeks ago. There is no way to know when the batteries have been charged.
The moment I plugged in the charger to the mains to start charging the batteries, the orange light lit up but it kept on. I thought that my batteries were not charged fully and hence I kept the charger plugged in to the mains for over 12 hours.

I have been told by tech support that this could be a design defect and I the batteries were charged after 5-6 hours.

Overall, the product is fine but I just thought of sharing this.
