It's not the best home cinema system out there, but for the price it's unbeatable. The pros : it has the likes of the more professional HDMI output, idiot-proof setup, very easy to use, sound quality on both CDs and DVDs is cristal clear, video quality is also stunning, even on my 20 year-old TV, via RCA. I've yet to try the HDMI output, since I do not own an HDMI-compatible TV. Has an RCA audio input so you can use the system as an amplifier. The cons : first of all, an old pet-peeve of mine : does not display the clock in standby mode. I'm no electronics specialist, but considering it's by Sony and since this unit can play CDs, DVDs, radio and USB, is it really that difficult to install and program a clock chip ? Another minor inconvenience is that too many basic functions are performed from the remote : there are no transport buttons on the unit itself (fast forward, rewind, etc). All media players should have at least basic controls on the front panel - what if the batteries run out ? Another minor gripe is the somewhat low volume - even at full volume. This seems to occur mostly on CDs and radio (USB audio files seem to play a bit louder). The bass output is also too low for my taste, but it's not a problem unless you plan to use it in a movie theatre. For an average sized room it's unlikely you need to play it at full volume, unless you want neighbours knocking at your door. The instruction manual is brief to say the least, so you have to discover the product yourself. Other than that, for the price, the system is unbeatable. If you're a home user, looking for a decent home cinema on a budget, definitely get this system. If you're a professional user, who seeks really high end features and can afford to pay for them, then you might want to look someplace else.
Pretty good home theater system... If you are on a budget, go for it...
I use this one at my home. Its pretty decent for that price.
the only drawback I found was lack of support for some file formats.
The amplifier is built into the dvd player. This is a good thing because its saves some space.
I brought it yesterday and its awesome! Has some true deep bass experience thou treble doesnt seem pitched.. Only problem is limited video extentsion support like mkv files. Anyways for the money you spent it has better options and sound than samsung or philips.
I would rate this product 5/5 stars and would strongly recommend any one to buY ENTRY LEVEL HOME THATER and realy value for money.
Overall Sony seems like a pretty decent brand. thanks Flipkart.com to Setting up shop online is easy.
