| Warranty Summary | In case of a defective device, please contact flipkart. The terms of the warranty are always handled by our sony resellers |
I find this strange that Sony is now using re-branded Drives instead of making one of their own. I have about four of these DRU-series drive gone bust within two years for really no reason what so ever. And in the age of steam who really uses them, but then with so much minimal use there is really no reason for them to die like this and all there are mostly mechanical problems, of tray not responding to not detecting brand new scratch less DVD. I have enough of sony crap.
Extremely pathetic quality stay away!
I have ordered Asus drive now.
one of the worst sony product till date this device stopped reading within 4 months of installation,, never reads any DVD or CD be careful in buying any sony camera or handycam's too they are total flop in in this segment
Not ordered from Flipcart but ordered from a local dealer ....Sorry Flipcart
Still i will review it...
Hotter drive as compared to Asus DRW-24B3ST Internal Optical Drive (Black)
Got extremely hot with continuous Load ( This can be the reason of Failure in the future but "touch wood" Working fine till date)
Noisy
Working fine, using it for about a month ....
Hoping to give good performance ( But also consider negative comments)
Asus DRW-24B3ST Failed before than this..(Maybe i was unlucky)
Ordered a Replacement Lets see who will win
I'm advanced user for computer & after long time of experience of using Sony's ODDs/other hardware, I firmly believe that Sony failed to give reliable products (in this category - computer hardware). And no doubt it's customer support is also bad.
I'd used Sony's box-packed "DRU 810A" (bundled with software) - died early (compared to normal ODDs), then used "Optiarc AD-7260S" - died within 8/9 months!!! One of my friend (running photo studio) have same experience with Sony!!
Its decent. I mean its not the best drive. Not super fast. But if you think about it, other than installing games you never use the drive. Maybe movies, but now people use iTunes way more. Also Steam and Origin have replaced CD's. So you never use your drive anyway.
