The Xperia arc is a full touch smartphone from Sony Ericsson that packs in the latest Android version. The
Gingerbread (Android 2.3) operating system brings in copy-paste capability, advanced multitasking as well as process management features to the arc.
Powered by 1 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor, this Sony Ericsson device comes with 512 MB of RAM and
Adreno 205 GPU that enhance the performance of the phone.
This smartphone sports a 4.2-inch screen having pixel resolution of 854 x 480. The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc introduces the Mobile Bravia Engine, the mobile version of the Bravia Engines used in the televisions of Sony. Design
The body of the
Xperia arc is thin and curvaceous, measuring 8.7 mm in the middle and 10 mm at both the ends, fitting snugly into your hand. The plastic build of the phone makes it very light, weighing just 117 g.
The screen of this Sony Ericsson mobile phone uses TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million color support. The Android device features an accelerometer sensor for auto rotation of the UI and proximity sensor for auto turn-off. The concave rear from where the phone draws its name, arc, and the chromed rims give the handset a swish and elegant look.
Storage and Battery
The internal phone memory of this handset is 320 MB. By using a microSD card, the external memory of the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc can be expanded up to 32 GB. A standard Li-Po 1500 mAh battery is used in this phone that serves a
talk time of 6 hours in 2G and 7 hours in 3G networks.
