The Ericsson Xperia PLAY has a 5 megapixel camera. The phone also has a 0.3 megapixel secondary camera that enables you to video chat and works well for self-portraits. The camera has an image stabilization feature in addition to an autofocus and a LED flash that give you the platform to take good pictures. The Ericsson PLAY also supports video playback and recording.
Design
The Xperia PLAY from Sony Ericsson is designed keeping your gaming needs in mind. The top of the phone has a standard lock and switch off button. On the left side of the phone is a 3.5 mm audio jack and on the right side of the phone is a volume rocker to control your volume during calls. The Sony Xperia PLAY smartphone has an accelerometer for UI auto-rotate and a proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
A multi-touch input method feature on your Xperia PLAY handset allows you to work and play more effectively. The dedicated gaming controls and the TFT touchscreen combined, are aimed at giving you a complete gaming experience.
Storage and Capacity
The Ericsson Xperia PLAY has an internal memory of 400 MB. The memory of this smartphone can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a microSD card. The phone is powered by a Li-Ion battery that has a capacity of 1500 mAh. The phone when fully charged gives you a talk time of 8 hours on 2G and 6 hours on 3G. The phone also promises to give you a standby time of 425 hours on 2G and 413 hours on 3G.
Connectivity and Features
The Xperia PLAY supports GPRS, 3G, EDGE and Wi-Fi technology with which you can access the Internet. Bluetooth facility and a USB port is also present on the phone to help you connect to other devices and share files. Although the PLAY from Sony Ericsson is known for gaming, this handset can be used to meet business needs. The Ericsson phone has a Pushmail facility and also supports applications like document Viewer and document Editor.
The Timescape UI displays your latest e-mails, text messages, and social media alerts for various contacts in a flowing design. This ensures that you are always systematically informed on what is happening at work and never left out a conversation with friends. AGPS enabled on this handset lets you find your way to any place you want to be.

Expensive - Not worth compare to Cost
XPERIA PLAY is the phone which many Gaming users was waiting for desparately. But price really made them frustrated. Rather than to buy Sony Ericsson XPERIA PLAY Game Lovers will buy Playstation which cost around 7-8 K. And still they will buy another good android phone like HTC Desire HD, Samsung Galaxy series. All are providing same Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread.
This time Sony Ericsson made all Game Lovers frustrated by releasing too costly product.
People who are open to other OS, Windows 7 and Apple iPhone are providing millions of games. For Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson planned to launch ONLY 50 GAMES.
So its very clear choice to all Android mobile phone lovers that to "REJECT XPERIA PLAY" - Though I am big lover of Sony Ericsson cellphone lover, Sorry to say DO NOT BUY is the Simple Call.

agree with aaron teron:but i have the psp and the htc desire and have just ordered the Xperia play here. I guess i just need to live out my fantasy of having a PSP in my phone.

Lets sum it up !
Now that the price is down to 22k, this phone is a steal. I have been using it for 2 months now and i have to say that its an absolute beauty! No lag while gaming or anything, what so ever. Dont be shocked by the only 1ghz processor because its more than sufficient for this phone.
The camera is beautiful as well. The screen is pretty good and delivers excellent quality. Great battery life. And the slide out game pad! well its the greatest time killer. You would love it if you are into gaming. But if not, then dont buy this phone as its bulky if you dont use the gaming part a lot. Thumbs up from my side!

Price is Justified :)
This is The only gaming centered Android phone, The slide out Controls are very cool :). Before this product was not rated good review because of its cost now the price is totally right. This is the phone for Android Gamers, Now is the right time to buy it.
Good Move by Sony Ericsson, this price cut will surely boost the sales. Please buy the Xperia Play to support Sony Ericsson, If we support them they will make XPERIA PLAY 2. BUY NOW ! :D
