Good for bass lovers

This earphone has really very good depth in bass. Music quality is excellent. It produces even minute details of music.

Features I like :

1)we can listen to music for long periods and unlike normal headphones we wont feel any pain in our ears.

2)The earphones will fit your ears and reduce outside noise, whether you are traveling or exercising.

3)Stable comfortable wearing and long-term wearing comfort.

If you are a bass lover, go for it.

A Good Buy

What you get: (Stuff not mentioned in product specs above)
- One pair of Canal-phones
- Four pairs of ear-buds (varying sizes SS, S, M, L)
- A Cord-adjuster/Cable-winder
Note: L-shaped connector

(Disclaimer - Subjectivity starts here)

Pros:
- Crisp and clear sound
- Pretty comfortable on the ear
- The stuff that design makes it easy to put on
- Symmetric cable - none of those behind the head nonsense
- Reasonable insulation from external noise
- Cable-winder - a thoughtful addition
- Also has that small bit which allows you to adjust the point where the cable spits into 2

Cons:
- Bass - on the heavy side - you are better off going for something else if you are not a big bass lover (like me)
- Cable quality seems very ordinary - squiggly wires with shape memory
- No pouch to carry the earphones or the array of buds

Having owned a Creative EP-630 for 3 years, I am definitely not disappointed with the 60LP.

Guys let me clear your doubt if you're in dilemma with headphones :)

Its been 2 years(yes 2 years) since I bought this headphone. I bought it from market not from flipkart actually. I was in confusion during all those times whether to go for Creative or sony or apple. Believe me when I say this, In this price range around Rs.1000, these headphones are worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. As I said its 2 years, and if anyone has second thoughts, I can ASSURE you, you won't regret after buying them, the bass is still INTACT after such long time stretch. And you don't know how careless I am in handling those wires. I'm just waiting for how long are these gonna last so that I can again buy the same ones from flipkart LOL. Seriously, I'd give 10/10 to these. Sony rocks!

good headphone...'YES'. Bassy headphone..."NO"

Hello my name is Sujan Baruah. Bought this product through the person above.
Review:
Well, to begin with, i bought this headphone solely relying on the reviews here. Everyone here said that its a BASS headphone. NO ITS NOT. Its a 'Natural' sounding headphone. That is, it wont make the bass more than its supposed to be. This also means that this headphone isn't for bassheads. The bass is there but its not HUGE. Its 'Controlled'. Definately non fatiguing.
Other aspects of the sound is superb!!! Mids are perfect. Treble is absolutely clear. Some may find it coloured (i.e more treble than supposed to be) but that doesnt create any sibilance. As i said earlier, Its Non-Fatiguing.
Comfort is the first thing that amazed me right out of the box. Man!!! Its totally non existent. Its goes deep inside. And due to its angled design, the headphone rests inside the canal without irritating other parts of the ear. Best comfort of all headphones i ever bought (philips she9700, Brainwavz Pro Alpha, philips she3750, Skullcandy Riot).
Wire is thin. Definately wont survive intense tension. Normal usage and pull is sustainable. Thin wire contributes to low weight which in turn helps in keeping the headphones to fall off the ear.
Sound isolation is low. Bass may get low in noisy environment. But this in turn helps in keeping the head cool. And it 'definately' helps in keeping away from scoldings from parents when they fail to get any response from you when they try to call you from some other room...XD...(big problem solved in my case...haha..
In short, Its a really good headphone that lets out a really pleasing sound signature without any colouring of the bass. But remember...'NOT for BassHeads".

Audiophile Diaries ..... Love at first sight :*

First of all Thanks FK... i got delivery on second day !!!! talk about fast delivery !!! n it was Cash on delivery so tipped the "Flip Boy" for the lightning speed process ;) ...

I love Blue and the character that the "BLUE" EX60LP potrays is of a "boyish audiophile" who knows his music :)... it actually has a glossy finish. I am more of a matte finish person ...but Sony are bang on with the colour selection to make it stand out outstandingly...

It was Love at first sight when i unwrapped it from a neat package screaming "FLIPKART" all over it.... I momentarily got distracted by the flipkart bill and the "mesmerizing bubble wrap". I had no option but to burst all the bubbles before actually opening the box and it has been all hunky dory since then. Since the last 4 years i had stuck to CREATIVE EP-630 re buying it 3 times in a row ... but given the SONY family name i never really doubted the performance (looks good on paper too 5Hz~23000Hz response)... I have tested it across all media devices and was floored by its overall detail in music reproduction especially the clarity of Bass that the EX60LP gives at high volumes (dont play at high volumes for long as u can potentially/surely damage ur hearing)... the CREATIVE piece was awsome to begin with but this just took a notch up in bass segment .... this entitles the SONY for a very nearly perfect 10 score

Trebble :: 10/10 (Low volume) 10/10 (High Volume)
Mid tone:: 9/10 (Low volume) 9/10 (High Volume)
Bass :: 9/10 (Low volume) 10/10 (High Volume)

STATUTORY WARNING ::: Some Equalizer tweaks must for Bass Heads ..... n listning to EX60LP at Very High Volume is INJURIOUS to ur auditory senses ... NJOI ... ;)

An average product...that's all

First of all, I don't understand why everyone here is going bonkers about the so called 'Bass' and the 'Boom Boom Pow' or whatever. The Bass on these earplugs is average, or slightly above average at best. Clarity is quite decent with a clear mid and treble. I used Sennheiser CX-180s for about a year (before losing them) and for just 500 bucks more those are a zillion times better. The CX-180s bass can blow this Sony into outer space. They also come with a 2-year warranty whereas Sony has a no warranty, no return policy. I found that quite unfair.

The build is quite good and the cord-winder is a handy feature. They are also very light and comfortable. But if you like Infected Mushroom or Skazi much, don't buy these. With Pitbull at maximum volume, these earphones started jarring and I didn't expect that from a 1000-rupee Sony product. My old CX-180 never jarred.

At Rs. 990, you get no warranty from Sony. No return either. Once you've bought it, you've bought it. So that makes it quite overpriced. If the standard white iPod earbuds are the only ones you've ever owned, then you'll love these. But if you have used Sennheiser, Soundmagic or Bose in the past, you'll not like them very much. My rating: 3/5

I also picked up a pair of Sony MDR-EX085 earbuds from eBay for a Rs.170. They are perhaps fake, but shockingly they have much better Bass than these. They are actually "Boom Boom Pow" though the mid and treble is just ok.

If you want good value for your 1000 bucks, get the Soundmagic PL21 or even the Creative EP630. Nothing very special about Sony MDR-EX60LP.

Great Value for money

Recently I bought this earphone after my philips earphone costing Rs.2500 stopped working. Since this time I had a budget, I had to choose from the available options and so after various analysis of the technical specifications of different other earphones I found the this one which suited best both to my budget and my requirement. Let me tell all of you that no earphone in the price range of up-to Rs.3000 can give you solid high end bass. You have to tweak the equalizer to obtain optimum bass and treble combination. As far as mobiles are concerned, you can expect an good performance of the earphone. For Ipod, as it is already less in bass output so you wont find any sudden increase in bass but sure this is 100 times better than those simple earphones which come default with the Ipod.

Dissapointed after buying this earphones

Got this earphones delivered today as we all know flipkart service is awesome, got these within 48 hours of order placement.
Coming to the earphones, these earphone has very stylish and sexy looks and also comfortably fits in ears but the main thing I disliked is the BASS it just produces normal bass like all other earphones. My main intention of buying this product was to experience good bass, didn't expect this from a brand like Sony would make false advertising even on the case it says 'Deep Bass' but there is no Bass at all totally dissapointed and also it is not that loud enough I tried this in many devices but i didn't get the best Bass at all also i tried on my Sony xperia phone by tweaking equalizer but didnt get the required Quality of Music. But the sound quality is good it has crystal clear sound you can hear very minute details in the music.I ordered this earphones by reading the reviews here why are you all people writing false reviews like 'Very Bassy','Boom Boom Bass' etc.I would recommend Ultimate Ears 100 and Sony MDR-ED12LP are much better than these. Finally Sony MDR-EX60LP are good earphones but not for Bassheads and price point is very high for such earphones.

A Normal Headphone from SONY

I had Philips SHE 8500 which was pretty cool product from Philips which handled bass and treble quite good. But since it went kaput, i went searching for another one. And seeing the reviews here, i wen on and bought one and i understood one thing. Do not ever go buy a headphone seeing review. Go to the shop and insert a pair in your ears ans listen and then make a decision. I don't understand why so many people have said " Bass, boom boom and all". This ear phone's frequency response is 5-23 Khz. But, that doesn't even show up in its performance. It handles treble well, i give you that, but bass is bare minimum . of course Sony advertises it as "Deep Bass". The performance is average, Like any other earphone available in this category. Of course i am disappointed with it when i compare it with my Philips SHE 8500 which was of a lower built quality. It lacked a little comfort which is not there in this Sony earphone. But performance wise Philips was better.

WORTH EVERY PENNY

sony has been my favorite brand since the beginning.
since i listen to many genres from rock, metal to contemporary indian music esp. lucky ali..i needed an earphone that would deliver crisp sound in all frequency ranges..

when i was about to order this product like you are, i was quite unsure about the quality of bass it will deliver..but when i plugged it in, i felt relieved since it delivered warm and rich bass and didnt overdo it..mids and high were as usual flawless from sony..

i'll say go for it..

some advantages..
1. it comes with a cable winder..and since the cable is not tangle-free, its a boon and quite intelligent feature from sony.
2. wide range of frequency response.
3. they are so damn comfortable that i have to touch and check whether i am wearing them or not..believe me.
4. Y shaped cable so no need to travelling behind your neck :)
5. even at very high volume, it doesnt stress your ears and the sound does not break.
6. pricing is just good.
cons..
1. L shaped connector..but no big deal still
