Sony NWZ-E373 4 GB MP4 Player

Well, i owned the ancestor of this model before they snuffed it out. Tsch! Sony changes models every year!

Anyway, I loves the sound of the old models because they were very clear and stable without overpowering my ears.

This model is based on the previous one for the most part...BUT-

The video qaulity is poorer and looks grainy. It's not bad at all, just me being persnickety.

The ear phones supplied with it are not the best...as always with any mp3 player, you have to invest in a good pair of phones but TEST then before you buy them, if you can.

What i found was that I paired these with a 'Clear audio' pair of earphones from Sony and ended up with a tinny sound. It was good for about half an hour but i listen to music pretty much through the day, so a few hours in and my ears began to hurt. The problem was that the blasted player has clear audio technology AND my earphones had that too. Basically what happened was every beat, every rustle in the background made itself present in my hearing, which would be great iff the volume stayed low and stable. Instead what i got was tinny, clear sound with too much power. I seriously suggest keeping the AVLS limit on because this walkman has wayy too much volume power going on.

So coming back to the tinny sound, i paired this up with a bass-heavy set of phones that wasn't as sensitive as the other pair. The sound is almost as good as the old version now, but there's still a little too much power. Your ear is fatigued after a few hours of listening as a result.

This version has a playlist( playlists can be created using windows explorer or media player) comes with all its software installed, and has a alarm function which i find useless since it's only going to blare the songs into your earphones and i don't know how many people sleep in theirs.

If you're buying this for the video...keep looking. I'd suggest buying the stick-lick Sony models instead.

I purchased it from sony's shop and was disappointed with the sound quality. No sterio widening, no play lists creation. Screen resolution is too low and it doesn't support even 3gp, mp4 formats of video. A cheap chinese phone would be far better than this. Totally a waste of money.

Timely delivered by Flipkart. Item recvd in good condition. The MP3 player is worth the money and sound quality is great. The supplied earphone is also quite good. All this at a very competitive price. Had tried out various brands at a showroom before the purchase, definitely found the sound quality much better than others like Phillips and others. Only an i-pod can match or surpass this quality.

If you are really into music and listen to it all the time, this one is a good choice as it is really smart looking, easy to use even while travelling and decent storage capacity. That might depend on your collection, but 4 GB is quite enough for me as I keep refreshing my playlist from time to time. Can invest on a good pair of headphones though as you may not like the ones that come with this.
