The 9th game in the long-running franchise has many new tweaks and features that will keep you glued to your PC screens. The game DVD is targeted towards hard-core gamers who like war-based video games. The third-person shooter game is available for the PC and carries a Mature rating from ESRB.
Synopsis and Features
The beautiful city of Dubai has been wiped out by a fierce and deadly sandstorm. People are trying to find shelter in any way they can. In a situation like this, Captain Martin Walker is sent in to find any known survivors. Instead, what Walker finds is a vicious fight for power that is brewing at the heart of the city. Braving hostile conditions, Walker must find the one man who has answers to all his questions - Col. John Konrad.
Developed by Yager Development and published by 2K Games, Spec Ops: The Line unravels a story that blurs the line between good and bad. The minimum hardware required to run the game smoothly on your computer are Windows XP, a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo E4400 or Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ processor, 2 GB RAM, 6 GB of hard disk space and a GeForce 8600 GS or Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card.
The single-player campaign in the game will take you through the city of Dubai as you fight against enemies to get to the bottom of the truth. The geography of Dubai is expertly detailed. These include sand dunes and tall buildings that glimmer and shine when the sun hits them. The mood of a war-torn land is creatively set within the game as you can see abandoned cars in the streets and pleas of help splashed on walls.
You have an array of weapons to silence your enemies that include assault rifles, shotguns, sidearms, and some heavy weapons. You can take advantage of the fragile environment in Spec Ops as you can shoot on walls and ceilings to make them crumble and fall on your enemies. Spec Ops: The Line focuses mainly on its story and asks you to make the tough decision at times. Every decision taken by Walker affects him personally as he is pushed into a moral dilemma which begs the answer to his question- Am I right or wrong?
The pace of the story changes according to the choices you make. Based on your decisions taken, you can move towards a happy or a sad ending. The game offers 4 alternate endings, offering more variety to the main story. The unpredictability element in the game pops up with sandstorms annihilating anything in their path. One second you may be fighting someone in an intense gunfight, the next you will be running to find shelter to avoid getting killed by the terrible weather.
The game features different prize packs that can be obtained as you level up. You can team up with a friend and play against him as The Line supports multiplayer. With 6 game modes spread across 7 maps, the game also offers community leader boards and a variety of other challenges. The updates, demos and wallpapers for the game can be downloaded directly from the company’s website.
