From a renowned biographer, Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography is an impassioned recount of an intensely creative and passionate entrepreneur whose vision revolutionized the digital world.
Summary Of The Book
Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography was easily one of the most awaited books of 2011. And this came as no surprise as Jobs changed the very wheels that greased the machinery of the adolescent technological industry. Isaacson gets down to the brass tacks of the pioneer, the idealist and the devil in this detailed memoir.
Chronicling Steve Jobs’ life meant speaking to everyone involved in his life and due to the pernicious influence he had over such huge enterprises, this meant interviewing a number of people including his competitors, colleagues, friends and family. Jobs himself contributed to this book’s elegance by engaging in more than 40 interviews with Isaacson.
At a time when enterprises everywhere were itching for a bite of the giant digital industry, Apple took to a completely different model of engineering creative perfection that pushed the boundaries of technology. Initially a flower child, he was a college dropout who reveled in the counterculture only to leave all of it to start Apple Computers with his friend Steve Wozniak.
Whether it is in exposing the outlandish temper or the callous treatment of loved ones, Isaacson’s words haven’t failed in mitigating across to the visionary’s more fair ideals. In 2004, Steve Jobs approached Walter Isaacson and granted him free access in order to tell the unbiased story of Jobs' legacy. Jobs even asked for no control over the content and waived his right to read the book before it was published.
Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography was released on Oct. 24, 2011 and became a New York Times bestseller. The book was listed among the Best Books of the Year by Time magazine and won the Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year award. The book is being adapted into a film starring Ashton Kutcher in the lead as Steve Jobs.

iTributeHe was not perfect. He was not philanthropic. He was erratic in his demeanor. He was pricky. He was many a times rude in his opinion. He was bipolar in his judgements. You were either a genius or a bozo.

A Peek into a Genius's Mind! Read slowly and you will understand the depth of his passion for Perfection! What makes Steve Jobs so good? That's one Big reason why I wanted this Book! (Long before Mr. Job's death). You see I have this small magical thing called "iPod" which makes me go bonkers over and over again.... The sexy Android in bag wouldn't have been a reality without iPhone (I don't think Mobile Giants would have even dared to go this BIG with Touch without Apple's giant leap!) and don't even get me started over "Mac n iPad". One common factor in all these is the perfection he never compromised... and as I start "Steve Jobs" the author syncs with my curiosity (I don't want the author to j… (Expand)

Here's to the crazy ones.I was looking forward to this book with Harry potter-esque excitement, before I begin this review I think I should mention that I am the kind of person who watches Steve Jobs' keynote addresses repeatedly for FUN! Me and my brother r the kind of people who find his product launches more fun than watching iron man, so I am definitely not as objective as a reviewer should be but still I will do my best.

Tells a lot, shows little. The biography of a man who changed the way the world thought about computers, changed them from industrial devices to an indispensable part of our lives, Walter Isaacson's account of Jobs's life is hallucinatory in parts, and illuminating in others.

The MANOne of the best i have read. The way Walter wrote about Jobs life right from his birth shows a balance. While reading the book its as if the entire story took place right in front of you. Beautifully written without taking a side.

TRULY INSPIRINGLike the name of the book, the book is itself straightforward, blunt and simple in approach. But dont even think for a moment that Steve Jobs' life was a simple, plain and boring one. He is one of the most complicated personalities to walk on this planet. Storytelling is great and a great job by Walter Isaacson in portraying the most confusing yet extraordinary person in a easy way.(Quick Question: Did you know Steve Jobs owned PIXAR(animation company) and later sold it to Disney? Did you know he has the largest number of patents registered to his name (212)?)
