The Summer Is Ended

Rumors of pending war with the powerful Nebuchadnezzar from Babylon course through the city of Jerusalem in the summer of 605 B.C. Dinah's family and their close friends' contented lives are disrupted by the hijacking of a tribute payment sent to Egypt. The spiritual unrest in the country torn between traditional Judaism and idol worship is tearing their culture apart. The prophet of doom, Jeremiah, unceasingly warns that a power from the north is soon to overrun the city and take it captive. Then in a fateful meeting when she helps a temple prostitute, Dinah's future is changed when she follows her erring guest into a den of spies. Would the summer end with changes for all of the families or would life as they had always known it continue in their sacred city? Was Jeremiah to be believed? The Summer is Ended is a pleasant ride with a roller coaster ending.
