This book loosely follows the memoir-with-recipes format, containing David's observations on life in Paris, from the perspective of a former San Franciscan. Lebovitz's style is both witty and refreshingly candid and unsentimental. He frequently (affectionately) pokes fun at Paris and Parisians, giving the outsider an amusing, un-romanticised account of everyday life in Paris. The few recipes I've tried have turned out well. On the whole, a good read, though perhaps too highly priced.
