Swiss Voice HF23 Over-the-ear Headset

If you are looking for a suave yet useful gadget without pinching hard on your wallet, take this.

The volume can go real high to leave the street noise behind. Clarity is good for a 11 hundred piece. Pairs easily without any mess. If you have the phone in pocket or on your desk, you can continue until you stroll away to the balcony! Looks good and feels light. The talk time and back up is reasonably long though I haven't really 'tested' it. Smart buy, you'll feel patting your back.

Have a computer at home? Don't buy otherwise. The charger goes only into USB. Not wise to carry in a trip either therefore, assuming you won't carry your lappy along.

The LED keeps blinking blue all the way. For some it may look funky. For some it may feel funny. Your choice here again. But again, for eleven hundred its okay.

Guys, have your one before stocks run out.

This is my first Bluetooth headset. So did a bit of research to find the "cheap & best" product. I saw a lot of reviews for the Nokia headset, however most of them were ranting on the ear-piece which apparently was flimsy and breaks off soon. So decided to go for the Swiss Voice product, which was almost 40-50% more expensive. And added to the fact that I had never heard of this brand, I thought I will give it a try.

Its too early to comment on its build and quality. However it carries the voice well inside the house and seems to eliminate most minor noises around you. However if you are outside on a moderately busy area or road, then the listeners did mention that they were not able to hear me properly.

Its manual had a lot of instructions as to how one can dial, redial, mute etc using the headset itself. However all these function involve 2-3 buttons, in a 2 inch area, either in a combination move or individually pressing one button. I found that operation quick difficult to execute as the device will be on your ear and out of sight and my fingers are not elfish!

However it good for what you want it for, listen and speak to people you are calling!

Flipkart's delivery was a bit disappointing this time around. I am used to the 24-48hr delivery times they have got me used to. This time around I got the order in 7 days time!! Not good guys!

Received this headset today and here's my initial take:
Pros:
o Easy to pair with 2 devices - was a breeze to setup with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S Advance) and laptop.
o Good noise cancellation. Used it on Inner ring road in peak traffic while walking - and people on other side did not complain about noise.
o Good ergonomics: Fits to ear pretty snug, yet no pain from prolonged use (used it clipped onto ear for 1.5 hours flat).
o Good range: No issue with voice quality within 15 feet.

Cons:
o Single ear clip. Worried if it breaks, then?
o USB-Nokia pin charger: Does not have a standard micro-usb charger. So, u will have to lug along this wire for charging, separately.

Cannot comment on:
o Battery life: Have used it for 2 hours - no issues, but will have to use it regularly to comment on how frequently I need to charge.
o Material life: Only time will tell the tale.

In a nutshell: I would recommend it if you do not mind the extra cable and are kind on the ear clip.

Flipkart delivery for this item was abnormal. Took 8 days (there was a bandh and a national holiday and a Sunday in between). They have spoilt me with 24/48 hours delivery.

I received this product within two days of ordering, and I was up and configured within 5 mins. I got my iphone, blackberry and Sony Erricson all paired.
I did a road test on a two wheeler, assessing how the device worked for sound quality while riding a bike , and this device came up triumphs.I could clearly hear the voice in my ears and the other person also did not find any disturbance per-se with the voice clarity .
The charge is good lasts a long time (3-4 days), the ear clip is flexible and can be used on either of the ear lobes .
I've used plantronics prior this and in terms of voice quality and button responsiveness it was way above plantronics.
the only drawback I felt was lack of any extra in ear plugs, so if I soil or damage my in ear piece , this device my be unusable, or may not be comfortable and secured while in use.
Al in all a super device for the price it comes at and again flipkart did a real good job of delivering it as promised .

1. Audio - below par. Some people I called said my voice was very faint. External noises also audible - so dunno what their noise reduction/cancellation technology is all about.
2. Not very comfortable to wear and use in-ear.
3. Multi-function button (also used to end a call/redial) is not user-friendly. You have to push really hard for it to work. Not a great idea if you're talking as you drive/cross the street.
4. Dunno how long the ear hook will last...others have voiced that concern too...
My recommendation is don't fall for the reduced price, guess I've figured why it is discounted heavily. I wanted a device for a few months, so it didn't matter that much. But for those of you who are heavy blue-tooth users, steer clear of this piece.
Flipkart service was good though, they delivered on the date committed.
