Book Reviews of The Talking Guns North East India
*Bringing North East Closer
Review by Lalrinsiangi
The author has maintained a balance in his coverage of six decades history of the north east region, often considered far away from India's national mainstream.
Thorwing puzzles around the description of the region as "hot bed of extremism", the writer offers a right amount of information, objective analysis and also a few suggestions.
His discussions on the region, the people and their political turmoils and cultures is unique.
The writer's scholarship on the region is sound --- but he should have spent somemore time in meeting garssroots people in states like mizoram and Manipur.
