TCS introduces technology in India with loads of challenges
First of all, an excellent services from Flipkart to deliver this book absolutely on time. This book is a nice combination of events, Challenges that TCS had ,from earlier days even when Indian System didn't consider computer as 'Machines', but it covers a life experiences from an eye of an ambitious Ramadorai who made a $6 bln enterprise.
Book speaks about TCS in the eye of Ramadorai right from it's early years. Starts interestingly with his boyhood in his village, about his family and his graduation etc. Also the kind of difficulties TCS faced in the period of 'license raj' was well narrated. It makes us to feel how cumbersome the policies has been laid that importing a mainframe computer to India would fetch nearly 2 years from the order, despite paying twice the cost of the computer as tax, custom duties, etc., Hardship fac...
I have just started the book, but a very minor factual error makes me wonder if I should proceed with the book further and whether this book has been ghostwritten for S Ramadorai.
On page 19, 3rd para of chapter 1 it is stated that IISc Bangalore was conceived and established by J.R.D Tata. This would mean that J.R.D Tata established it when he was 5 years old, as IISc was established in 1909 and J.R.D was born in 1904.
