Ten Days (English) (Paperback) Price: Rs.125

Caught in the carnage Down Under in Australia, Zeeshan Akhtar lies wrecked when Amanda Stewart comes to his rescue. She peels off slowly each layer of his life to make him realise his shortcomings, loopholes, desires and dreams during the casual repartees they exchange and which act as his life saviour.

Zeeshan, after ten days of vital rehabilitation and recuperation, flies off to India forever to the love of his life and his family without whom he feels incomplete. He, however, leaves Amanda back in Australia, gifting her the feeling of eternal incompleteness as she had fallen in love for the first time unluckily with an extraterrestrial like Zeeshan. Tried as she might have been, she is unable to express her personal feelings in front of him nor she is able to do so behind him.

Good Depth in story and language

Ten Days deals with the racist attacks on Indian students in Australia. The story unfolds in flashbacks around Zeeshan Akhtar, who happens to be a victim of these attacks that land him in a hospital.

I liked the story line...very different from recently published contemporary romance fiction.

A Lot Can Happen In Just TEN DAYS...

Azharuddin's Ten Days arrived at my door when I had actually not expected it. I saw the ads on facebook and flipkart, and I even remembered catching glimpses of the book here and there. But I had passed on the book, thinking it would definitely not be my cup of tea, since I am sucker for romance novels. Yet being a complete bookworm I couldn't let the opportunity to read Ten Days pass.

Quite frankly, it is the back cover writing of the book which got me interested to know more about Zeeshan (the protagonist). He's not unlike any other angst wrought guy who feels he has been severely wronge...

He's not unlike any other angst wrought guy who feels he has been severely wronged. A lot of us dream of going abroad for further studies, Zeeshan was no exception. He leaves behind his family, his love and his life in order to pursue higher studies...what he hadn't bargained for in the process was the horrific experiences lurking in the shadows of his happy dreams.

The story is set around the time of the attacks on Indian students in Australia, where Zeeshan is caught in the carnage Down Under in Australia.

You would think that the author tried to get a lot ahead of himself with this novel and almost write this off as a cliche, but you couldn't be more surprised. The story is more about Zeeshan's self-discovery, with the backdrop of the Australia attacks.

Azharuddin successfully creates an enigma around his protagonist, and the introduction of Amanda Stewart makes the novel a guaranteed page turner. A beautiful relationships blossoms between the two characters and it is almost with heart wrenching agony, we realize it's a love story that will never materialize...

It indeed is a moving tale of unrequited love. If I were to go on talking about it, I would be given away essential plot details...

So all the answers to the questions that might have popped in your head, are in the pages of Ten Days. I would definitely recommend everyone to read this book. Especially those, who like Zeesha dream of going abroad for further studies...

ONE Of THE BETTER BOOKS Of RECENT TIMES!!

The book is divided into layers.....one of it deals with the carefree life of the modern day youth; the other is about the racist attacks on the indian students in australia; when these two layers confluence it becomes a GREAT READING EXPERIENCE!

one with the soul and heart of a young boy and tragic shallowness of todays society, this book provides it all. FEED UR MIND WITH IT,ITS DELICIOUS!!

CAPIVATING STORY WITH YOUNG EMOTIONS

GOOD USE OF COMPREHENSION,NICE STORY-LINE AND AN ENJOYABLE READING EXPERIENCE THAT SURELY LEAVES BEHIND A FEELING OF DEEP CONNECTION SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE WITH THE PROTAGONIST AND HIS EXPERIENCES. A MUST READ!!!

Wonderful Read

The title and the blurb were as captivating as the cover page was. The start was powerful and it promised you a wonderful read; something out of the world and normal fiction around. It???s sad that Author couldn???t live up to the hopes.

It had such sensitive and interesting topics which, if exploited well, could have done wonders. Author narrates about the protagonist - Zeeshan???s student and college life where he falls in love, over-estimates himself, focus on cricket while ignoring his studies, gets spoilt, again pace up in studies and lands to Australia. There was hardly anything interesting in this complete set.

The narration changes quite frequently and at times Amanda is reading his diary. Unfortunately diary is never written the way author has presented.

The part which deals with the current educations system in India and racist attack in Australia should have been given more space in the book. It was not only interesting but it would have made content more substantial. Amanda falling in love with Zeeshan was unconvincing. Maybe author should have portrayed the event better to give the feel.

Nevertheless, author???s expertise in the language is commendable and his writing skills are appreciable. He has made excellent word choice with adequate use of idioms and other language tools.

Hoping that he will come up with better story and plot, I would like to read Azharuddin???s next book.

Coming to FPGA; for writing and language skills, author deserves two out of two. Impact after reading wasn???t that great. Moreover it has been shown that the article published in newspaper was written in first person. But yes, the racist attack in Australia was impressive; hence author gets one out of two. In plot consistency and creativity one out of three are fair. In content quality and originality, it???s two out of three. Overall, it is six out of ten.
