Description

In times when anthologies dwell on prosaic romantic accounts, Fablery presents ten shades of life. From a nail-biting thriller to a spine-chilling ghost story, an exquisite romance to an ingenious fantasy, an adventurous science-fiction to mirthful and remarkable experiences of salaried men, stories of heroes and philosophies of life-it attends to the preferences of all readers.

When anthologies contain stories of one genre, after reading a couple of stories they get predictable and fail to keep a reader’s interest until the end, but a multi-genre book has something to offer to everyone and many things to one reader.

The writing styles of all the writers whose stories are included in this book are grand and the plots so engaging that they will force you to read another page and one another before you finally close the book. The stories will take you on a roller coaster between reality and fiction.
Miss Cheyenne Mitchell, Monika Pant, Dr. Roshan Radhakrishnan, Shankar Raman A, Bruce Memblatt, Karthik L, Reshmy Pillai, Deepa Duraisamy, Vinaya Swapnil Bhagat and Rahul Biswas-all of them have been writing since ages and they write brilliantly. Fablery wouldn’t have found better stories for its first anthology.

Ten Different Worlds...

Usually, anthologies have stories of one genre. Ten Shades of Life is an apt title for a book which has ten different genres to read and enjoy.
All the ten stories, in Ten Shades of Life, have a refreshing new story line which takes you in ten different worlds. The crisp and well narrated short stories compels you to turn page after page.
Go for it... not only to have a delightful reading experience but also to applaud the efforts of the budding writers!

Not a great anthology, only a handful touch a chord

Had started reading with great anticipation and expectation but it fizzed out very soon. Honestly, the best ones for me were Deepa Duraisamy and Rahul Biswas' stories. The other two that stood out were Reshmy Pillai and Monika Pant's ones. The others, were seriously not impressive at all.

The editing is a dud. There are several typos, grammatical errors, repetitive words in sentences. I had expected a lot more. Hope Fablery's next attempt will be better.

A Goodread but not a Great One

Fablery is a short story writing contest and aims to provide aspiring writers with an opportunity to come out of their shells and express themselves. The 'Ten Shades of Life' edited and put together by Nethra A is the set of stories that topped each genre in the contest conducted at Fablery. The book covers all the diverse categories under which the contest was conducted.

The individual authors Miss Cheyenne Mitchell, Monika Pant, Dr. Roshan Radhakrishnan, Shankar Raman A, Bruce Memblatt, K...

A balanced mix!

The vantage point of this book is the variety. Few stories are average and others excellent, but over all they make a good read.

'Something Like That' and 'The Secret Of Ahiraah' are my favorites among the ten stories that are in the book.

Hope to read more from all the authors and of course Fablery in the near future.

Book Review-Ten Shades of Life-Fablery

I picked ‘Ten Shades of Life’ (Edited by Nethra A) with lots of expectations and fortunately, this book was a delight to read. It offers readers ten stories from ten different genres and most of the stories were excellent and were a riveting read.
From clans practicing witchcraft, to extra-terrestrial encounters, to the story of the hired hit man, to a love saga set in 18th century Awadh, to a bone-chilling weekend escapade in the country, to the riveting suspense of a kidnap, to a tale of d...
