Tenida Samagra is a collection of stories about a fictional character named Tenida, who was created by Narayan Gangopadhyay.
Summary Of The Book
Tenida Samagra is a set of stories based on Tenida or Teni, a fictional character who leads a group of three other young boys in their mostly comical adventures. Tenida lives in Potoldanga in Calcutta. He is shown to be a less-than-bright lad who makes up for his lack of academic intelligence with his honesty, courage, and presence of mind. He is also known for his humongous appetite. His grotesque nose is often highlighted in the stories. The other three lads who accompany Tenida on his adventures are Kyabla, Habul Sen, and Pyalaram.
The stories are based in the various neighborhoods of Calcutta and its suburbs. In some of the stories, the lads end up in the Bengal countryside or even farther away. The characters’ adventures are usually comical, mingled with a bit of humiliation and pain. They often embark on missions to solve mysteries, ending up with funny results.
Tenida Samagra was published in 2011 by Ananda Publishers. The book is written in Bengali. The collection contains novels, short stories, and essays based on Tenida, and the stories have been adapted for film, comics, and an animated series. The stories are much-loved and are a part of Bengali literature for children.
