The Affair is a prequel novel to the Jack Reacher series of thriller novels by Lee Child.

    Summary of the Book

Six months before the events of Killing Floor, Jack Reacher is still a major in the United States Army Military Police Corps. When a woman is found murdered behind a bar in Carter Crossing, close to the Mississippi army base, everyone begins to wonder if the killer is an ordinary citizen or a soldier sworn in to protect. Jack is sent undercover to help the county sheriff, an attractive woman who once served as a US Marine. It becomes obvious that her investigation is going nowhere. Could it be that the Pentagon wants to wrap this up? Or is the sheriff trying to hide the secret for some other reason? Read and find out in this exciting prequel and discover if the choices Jack Reacher makes will change his life, and his term in the army, forever.

    Really good read

A must for all Reacher fans. This one goes right to the beginning and sets up Reacher for the whole series. Lee Child also gives us an insight into Reacher's family background and his early influences. His personality though remains the same and this is another sure shot page turner. Unlike the future when he takes the law into his own hands here he is with the law and sent by his boss to investigate a murder. Enjoyable read. Meet some of the characters who you will come across later in the s...

    Kick-Ass !!

This is vintage quintessential Lee Child at its best. Reacher is young and is doing what he does best. A must read for the fans of this particular franchise. Its a prequel to killing floor but at the same time there is this beautiful continuity. Quite sweetly ironical. Amazing read !

    Bad As* Protagonist

'Mess with me, and I'll kill you, no worries.' That's what Jack Reacher would say to bad people and villains, 2 or 20 or 200 in number, just doesn't matter. The plot is a fast paced one albeit a little predictable towards the end of it, not the worst of this genre, but definitely not the best in the Jack Reacher series.

    First of the Jack Reacher

The book tells you, why Reacher left MP. Tells you why he is always found as drifter. His fighting skills. Foundation of each and every quality Reacher has, foundation is there in the book.

So really want to know about the history of Jack Reacher, go ahead and grab this book.

One more point the book do have a great murder mystery plot but a weak climax to which will tend to let you run in the end rather than keeping interest till the end.

thanks will come back with review of The Firm by Jo...

    A good read.

A suspense novel from one of the masters of crime writing. A good read. A must read for the fans of Lee Child franchise. This book is a prequel set six months before Child's first novel, Killing Floor and forms the backdrop of the explosive circumstances under which Jack Reacher's career in the United States Army was terminated.

    Excellent book of excellent series

I have always been a fan of the Reacher series and have read all the books. This book, the Affair, has something different from the other titles of the series. This book takes us to start of the place where Reacher becomes what he is today.

The prose, flow and suspense in the book is sensational.
