This was a good book. It is recent history and us at the heart of it so make exceptionally good reading specially if you are keyed in to history and politics.

It talks less about the actual war and the semantics of it so it is not for people looking to enrich there learning of how India plonked our neighbors backside. However it goes into detail on the geo-political maneuvering involving Nixon, Pakis, China and our very own Indira. It is a very clear peek into the times that were 60's-70's....

Shows how personal views of leaders can lead to tragedy. i feel this book is for anybody who is interested in history of international politics especially for Indians, paks, bengalis & Americans

Blass does a great job bringing the 1971 War for the Liberation of Bangladesh to life, using a combination of in-depth sources from around the world. The duplicity of those two war criminals, Kissinger and Nixon, is obvious from this account. A must-read for anyone interested in geo-politics in general and the subcontinent in particular.
