  • Description

Hercule Poirot returns in Hollow, a brain-numbing mystery novel by the Mistress of Crime, Agatha Christie.

    Summary of the Book

When Hercule Poirot receives an invitation from crime enthusiast Lady Angkatell, all he expects is a boring weekend speaking about his past achievements. When he arrives at the scene, he finds an elaborate scene set up for him. A doctor's body lies in a puddle of red paint, his timid wife stands over his body with a gun and other guests wear a look of horror. But this is no ploy, the paint is real blood and the look of horror is as real as any in the scene of the crime. It is up to Poirot to prove or disprove the wife's innocence, under seemingly impossible circumstances. Especially since the gun she was holding was dropped into a pool by mistake. Even more so since the gun the doctor was shot with was of an entirely different calibre. Can Poirot work his magic once again, or has the little Belgian detective finally found his match?

    Awesome

One of the best books by her
The story revolves around a man named John Christow, his life, and his relationships.
A must read for all the Christie fans out there.

    Not-so-good!

A so-so book by Christie standards. The plot is very carefully woven and suspicion thrown methodically at all the characters in the story. The climax, when it comes, shakes the readers. A decent read though a little stretchy.

All said and done, there are many Christie books better than this. You might want to finish those before you come to this.

    Very Good

It was good... but not great

I will recommend readers to read peril at end house, murder on the orient express and books like that first, then this, books later in the series. Halloween party is like this... So better a super great story before reading that (or those) Still, it's good as it is written by Agatha Christie...

    Average

This novel by Christie is a different one- there is lot of romantic fuss and Hercule Poirot appears occasionally.Nonetheless there is profound suspense in the story. On the whole I enjoyed it.
