The Innocent (Paperback) Price: Rs.226

Will Robie, a veteran assassin for a US Government agency, is a stone-cold hitman who never questions orders, and always finishes his job. However, when Robie is sent to assassinate a target in Washington D.C., his gut feeling forces him to abandon the mission, an unexpected act of rebellion that makes him a target in his own agency.

Summary Of The Book

The stoic protagonist, Will Robie, is asked to kill a government employee. However, this erstwhile ruthless assassin finds himself unable to complete the task. After abandoning the hit, he takes an exigent decision to leave town and head to New York. On the bus, he has a chance  to encounter with a teenage girl who has left her foster home and is on the run. Upon discovering that both her parents were murdered, and that the girl’s life might be at risk too, he has no option but to help her.

However, the more he learns about her, the more he is convinced that she is at the epicentre of a high-profile cover-up, one that might explain the death of her parents. The police, while investigating this hit, start to take keen interest in Robie. Between them and a relentless female investigator who believes that the two cases may be connected, Robie is fighting for his life, and his freedom.

Throughout the book, Will Robie’s character is highly mercurial. His dispassionate outlook on taking someones life contradicts the surprisingly humane choices he makes in the course of the story. The Innocent boasts of a clever, intricately planned plot that has the classic Baldacci twists and turns.

only David Baldacci could have wrote this thing !!!

To tell you the truth. First few pages of the book were completely predictable like any other Assassin, spy thriller.
The book got me after some pages when Julie Getty was introduced into the story.
I have always loved characters with attitude and Julie is just full of it...even after witnessing murder of her parents.

The Mystery that surrounds Robie is quite catching.
When you read it you'll think that author wrote this book for a movie or its that gripping story!!!

Its a good go for it with blindfolding ur eyes !!!

The Innocent - review

This is one interesting book from David Baldacci, made me hooked to the book till I completed reading the same. Though this is slow when compared to other books of author, several twists and turns with suspense, is worth reading. This is about the assassin Robie who fails to take out the mission that is assigned to him. People are after him when he tried to save Julie. Now he has to uncover what exactly is going on, he is into the midst of a big operation, ... read this book for more. Happy reading

Assassins like Will Robie are few - men of steel with heart of gold. Teenagers are Getty are fewer still - street smart and sharp as a needle. Together they form an unlikely but wholly gripping partnership.

The plot is intriguing and the suspense is maintained throughout. You are itching to know the identity of the villain and it is revealed only in the final few pages. This is a constant page-turner and the end game is satisfying too.

Strongly recommended.

the plot starts with some thriling scenes,as we can always wait for dark griping tale.but the plot depends too much on the main character and julie.sometimes you will find it interesting and at times boring.tale becomes a romantic thriller which goes aganinst the story and this genere.the story becomes too long mid way and pain full.the twists in the plot are making it more can skip it .

In this exciting new thriller, Baldacci introduces his new protagonist - Will Robie . And soon you will adore his characterization.
The plot is intriguing and the suspense is maintained from start to end. This is again a constant page-turner and a highly entertaining read from Baldacci. He is just getting better and better.
It is that type of book that can be made into a super hit Hollywood movie.

Good read.

Short story. Not a great one. Good for a single read if u r travelling or u r alone for a long time.

David tries to pack a punch in this one, but falls short of twists that can bind a reader to a book. The story becomes predictable and a bit slow paced in the middle. Although the writer tries to...
