The Litigators (Paperback) Price: Rs.245

The Partners at Finley & Figg - all two of them - often refer to themselves as "a boutique law firm." "Boutique," as in chic, selective and prosperous. They are, of course, none of these things. What they are is a two-bit operation always in search of their big break, ambulance chasers who've been in the trenches much too long making much too little. Their specialties, so to speak, are quickie divorces and DUIs, with the occasional jackpot of an actual car wreck thrown in. After twenty plus years together Oscar Finley and Wally Figg bicker like an old married couple, but somehow continue to scratch out a half- decent living from their seedy offices in southwest Chicago.

And then change comes their way. More accurately, it stumbles in. David Zinc, a young but already burned-out attorney, walks out of his fast-track career at a fancy downtown firm, goes on a serious bender and finds himself literally at the doorstep of our "boutique firm". Once David sobers up and comes to grips with the fact that he's suddenly unemployed, any job - even one with Finley & Figg - looks OK to him. With their new junior partner on board, F&F are ready to tackle a really big case, a case that could make them rich without requiring them to actually practice much law. An extremely popular drug, Krayoxx , the no. 1 cholesterol reducer for the dangerously overweight, produced by Varrick Labs, a giant pharmaceutical company with annual sales of $25 billion, has recently come under fire as several patients taking it have suffered heart attacks. Wally smells money. A little online research confirms Wally's suspicions - a huge plaintiff's firm in Florida is putting together a class action suit against Varrick. All Finley & Figg have to do is find a handful of people who had a heart attack while taking Krayoxx, convince them to become clients, join the class action, and ride along to fame and fortune. With any luck, they won't even have to enter a courtroom! It almost seems too good to be true.

Amazing book

Another good book by Grisham.. Once start reading the book its difficult to put it down..a fun story. You will love the characters of the story and would want it to end with 'every one living happily ever after'. looking forward to reading more stuff like this.

Worth a Read for all those who don't want dramatic ends!

It was another well-written Grisham's novel. But the suspense and thrill were not present like his previous one "the confession". But its definitely worth a read! The contradicting natures of the Street Lawyers who want to hit gold through whatever methods and retire with a fortune and a young, immature lawyer who doesn't know much about the Proceedings of the court but willing to expose himself to a lot of research and find the success in its way are well-established by the master of Legal thriller. Though I won't vouch this would be a big thriller, stil a good read if you've got used to Grisham's style of writing.

The Little Gators - Grisham in snapping good form!

I picked up a John Grisham novel after years. I had read his first six or seven books and enjoyed them thoroughly, even if his prose didn't impress me much, but then I burned out on his plain-jane writing style. I like my thrillers more meaty. The Little Gators (sorry, can't resist that silly pun - lawyers really are like 'gators' in Grisham's novels, aren't they?) is surprisingly well written, probably better written than Grisham's early novels. It's a crackling good story too, more like a Michael Connelly Micky Haller novel (though not quite as good as Connelly's The Fifth Witness or The Lincoln Lawyer) than vintage Grisham. He tells a story well, even if everything is Hollywoodized. A very entertaining read and one that keeps you flipping pages all the way through.

Grisham does it again!

John Grisham has been my favorite author for a long time. This time around he delivers an interesting piece about the pressures of being lawyers in large corporate offices and about the many cheap tricks and systems utilized by smaller "boutique" firms to deliver legal solutions.

A story about a small firm trying to make it big on Mass Tort Litigation scam and an over-pressured lawyer from a big shot firm who leaves his job to join a smaller firm only to land in a big mess.

Extremely interesting and as in any Grisham novels, the build up takes time but delivers in the end.

Fantastic and fun read. Great characters. Highly recommended

The first Grisham book in read was 'The Confession' which left me disappointed. So was hesitant to pick this up, but still bought it after reading the good reviews. Well guess what? i was pleasantly surprised. Right from the first page i was smiling and laughing and knew this one is gonna be one hell of a ride.

The characters are the life of the novel. You can relate to all the characters easily and you cant help but love the 3 leading ones. Its very well written, the humor shines through and story itself is pretty good too. No matter what kind of books you love, you will not be left disappointed by this one.
