Goosebumps and unwitting intoxicationDear Readers,

GeniusI have been wondering for a long time why in India, people do not write horror. Either horror is women with open hair, clad in white saree, carrying a candle or its full of weird creatures like owls and cats and funny-looking spirits. While, these can be categorized as horror, they dont really send a chill through your body. They rather tingle the funny bone.

A glorious sophomore effortArnab aka Greatbong takes incredible delight in breaking his shackles, at being labelled as humor writer.A taut package providing the right amount of thrills and suspense, would be a perfect companion for those rainy evenings, curled up in bed, sipping coffee.

Be afraid. Be very afraidEver gone spelunking deep inside an underground cave, turned a bend, and had the flashlight go dead? Remember the feeling of chill down your spine, the pure, unadulterated fear? The experience of reading this book is very similar. The darkness is relentless, and the taut pace of the story makes sure that u stay glued to it, wishing you didnt have to take even those bathroom-breaks! A wickedly brilliant (and unc… (Expand)

Special EffortThe author is reknowned for his humour pieces, but The Mine proves that Arnab Ray has more up his arsenal. This relentlessly dark novel is unapologetic and confident of the path it takes through its pages. You would still be under a spell of its intensity after finishing the book.

An excellent effortHaving been a regular reader of Arnab's blog and first book I was a bit skeptical on hearing that Arnab was venturing into a complete different genre.

Awesome Chilling StoryI have been following Arnab for years now at greatbong.net and love reading his narratives. Just loved his first book May I hebb your attention pliss. So when I picked up this book my expectations were that of a satire filled with humorous sarcasm and witty observations that I have observed in Arnab's narratives over the years.

Psychological ThrillerThe Mine lives up to its name - it explodes with various plots and hints and doubts and more specifically fear in every page. The book is on its way to becoming another cult Indian literature in English. Riveting and deeply disturbing, this will stay with you for days after you have finished reading it.
