The Orange Box

Before buying this just make sure that you do have a high speed internet connection or else you wont be able to play any games.The games need to be updated before they can be played via steam.
I also got a nice Orange Box Gaming mousepad free with it..so overall its a great deal.The games still rock and the storyline is really great with beautiful graphics.
One thing that is needed to keep in mind is that after activation steam will try to download all the games from the internet instead of installing it from the disks.So you need to do the following steps done to get the games install from the disks and after that steam will update them from the internet:

1.Log in to Steam and click on Library.
2.Right-click on the game, select Delete local content, and confirm.
3.Insert the first disc into your computer.
4.Close Steam (Steam > Exit).
5.Press Windows Key R to open Run
6.In the Run window type:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:

Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
7.Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.

The best game is team fortress 2 and the others also make a superb addition. Its been 4 days and i have already sunk in 29 hours.....

Buy it!

True it has bundled many awesome games but the DRM is a lost cause. Until companies make such horrible DRM piracy will prevail. I regret buying this game. I used to buy a lot of games earlier but after facing such awful DRM I'm forced to switch to pirated games.
This game tries to pull files of internet no matter what. At first it won't even give you option to install from DVD but after re-insert it allows. But after you start installation you'll realize its still downloading files from internet. I took out DVD still installation continued. Really frustrating.
Morever DVD are real poor quality. Seems like some chinese guy burned a local made DVD and put a cheap sticker with some water glue.
I swear this is the last original game DVD I'm buying. I can't handle so much frustration.

A GOOD INTERNET CONNECTION(3G or Broadband) IS A MUST..

Please don't even think you can do this with a 2G connection or using your cellphone as a modem(I've tried).

Although other reviewers have also helped to explain the frustrating installation process let me do my part as well.

Here are the installation steps(from my experience with it):

1)Connect to the internet and keep it ready
2)Insert Disc1 > Click install
3)Install Steam
4)Log in to Steam(This requires internet)
5)Exit Steam
5)Eject and re-insert Disc1(cancel installer as Steam is already installed now)
6)Press Windows+R or choose Start > Run and type the following:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:

Note:

- Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
- Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.

Installer asks what games to install. PLEASE DO NOT SELECT ALL GAMES AT ONCE.

7)Deselect all and choose any one game and proceed with the installation.

Once installation is done Steam will download updates for the game.

YOU CANNOT BEGIN PLAYING until all updates are downloaded.

8)Eject and Re-insert Disc 1
9)Choose another game to install on the Steam Library
10) Repeat steps 7-10 to install all games.

Once INSTALLED ALL GAMES ARE SUPER COOL. So happy Gaming :)

I received this package just 20 minutes ago. I won't comment in detail about Half Life 2, the two episodes, Portal 2 or TF2 because nothing need to be said. any gamer worth his/her salt knows that these are true classics. HL 2 and Episodes 1 & 2 carry forward the original half life's legacy, the sheer scale, deep story, and incredible visuals, sound, gameplay and atmospherics, though with one of the best game engines 2 date, "Source" the game looks gorgeous even now,8-9 years later when Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 are upon us. Team Fortress 2 is a worthy challenger to Counterstrike, a must play for fans of the genre. and Portal 2 is one of the best puzzle games to date, quirky, witty and a whole lotta fun. what bowled me over, besides flipkart's amazing service (i placed my order on the 9th late in the evening) is that i got a FREE authentic Valve Orange Box gaming mousepad, there was no mention of this on the website. I always wanted that, but it wasn't available in India. Such a pleasant Surprise. Thaks a lot Flipkart! keep up the good work. :)
