The Reversal-Sporadically Interesting

What are thrillers meant to do? Keep you guessing until the very end, when all the bits and pieces of the plot start to make sense. The Reversal by Michael Connelly almost succeeds on that account.
The Reversal excites as it reveals but what it lacks is a proper conclusion. It does introduce a lot of bits and pieces which the reader expects to fall into place, but sadly Connelly choses an ending that fits but does not excite. But that does not take anything from the book. The subtle details of the witnesses that are exploited, the almost mockery of the judicial system that seems to be satir...

The Reversal excites as it reveals but what it lacks is a proper conclusion. It does introduce a lot of bits and pieces which the reader expects to fall into place, but sadly Connelly choses an ending that fits but does not excite. But that does not take anything from the book. The subtle details of the witnesses that are exploited, the almost mockery of the judicial system that seems to be satirical, the ironical position of Haller as a prosecutor, his relationship with his wife and second chair are so intricately woven into the story that they carry the central plot forward in an adept manner.
Connelly makes the reader go through the descriptions and details of the murder that Jason was accused of. He makes the court case full of twists and turns which may be defined as trivial but still manages to hold the reader’s attention throughout.

Mickey Haller....the best & shrewdest lawyer around

All Mickey Haller books are worth their money.....but just a suggestion to Connelly please keep Bosch out of 'em.

NOT A SUSPENSE BOOK

It depends on what you want. If you are interested in whodunit, donot read this book. This book only is like a legal thriller combined with police procedural. No mystery, no suspense. So, from my point of view, I found it boring.
