Summary of the Book

Anthony Cade seeks out a little coin and some adventure in all he does. When he takes on a job as a messenger to deliver the memoirs of a recently deceased European to a London publisher, he discovers that he might make a little cash, but also that he will definitely land in a heap of trouble! A stranger is following Anthony everywhere as he tries to deliver the package, but before he can discover who the man is, the stranger is killed. The parcel holds a stash of letters which suggest blackmail, and worse. What secrets lie behind the estate of Chimneys? And who is trying to keep the secrets buried forever?
