Can a man walk on water? Can he see the future? Can he read people's minds? After a deep personal loss, Maximus Pzoras, Harvard economist and Wall Street banker, sets out on a quest to find the cause of human pain and suffering. His journey takes him from New York to a hidden ashram in south India, and then to a freezing cave high in the Himalayas. And as he goes from being a cubicle dweller to a cave-dwelling yogi, he starts to develop extraordinary powers. But will Max, an investment banker turned Himalayan sage, find the answers to the questions that led him to India? The seeker is second book I gave 5star rating after The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

    Age Group = Youngsters.
Adult Book = As some of the text is not suitable for the minor
Language used = Mostly English (Be ready to Google for some Hindi word meanings)

Advise = Read single chapter in single sitting and advisable to take at-least 5-10 minutes break in between two chapters.

What I liked = The story started with Max of the Max and ended with the Max. However, there are other characters that left us with their remarkable presence.
Not a single character was forcibly introduced....

    Spiritual journey

    The seeker - Karan Bajaj

Just concluded my marathon reading session of The seeker. Accidentally stumbed upon it i should say and its the first book I have completed in recent times though bought some intermittently. The writing style has glued me to pages as i keep of shifting from page to page with trembling heart and eager mind. Max's the seeker and the hero, struggle to know who he was, whats the ultimate aim of his in life, who is going to be his guru and so many questions. As max become...

I received a free copy of this book for my honest review

The seeker is fast paced, quick and has a no-nonsense approach as to what the seeker is looking for. Well worth the read just for the story and the character growth, it is also a very soothing tool for the seeker of today. All of us in India have had at least some news about a yogic sadhu doing wonderful things in his ashram. Due to the previous ideals of sadhus and yoga it is very difficult to see one self or anyone else for that matter going down on the yogic path in today’s date and time. ...

    The Journey Within

It took me a while to get into the book (still not totally convinced by Max's motivation to take off!). But once the journey began, I found myself being drawn into the scenic beauty that is India. Karan makes you breathe in the cold air, your eyes smart at the sunlight glinting off the snow and you feet ache after the long trudge across the mountain.
I loved the next part - the Yogi! The brutal weather, the harsh discipline of yoga and the scant food shape Max into the man he will become. I f...

    Not just a book

    The seeker,
A man's journey from NYC to Indian extreme climates, to find the purpose and to heal from the wounds of this life.First part of the book giving back story and reason for his actions, although its described well yet I found it redundant in the sense that next two parts are about completely different things, and they are the crux and crest of the book.

The yoga practice , Himalayan cold and drought in south India , were really thoughtful.Thing I liked about it most was, it wasn't p...

Hi, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book has caught my attention from the first chapters only and I read this continuously for the entire day; very good narration. The Seeker is an apt title for the story. I believe little fiction is used but most of the story is life like. The pain, suffering and single minded goal towards seeking consciousness or merging with the ultimate one broadly makes the entire book. The best thing is even being a broadly no...

A perfect blend of Spiritualism + Fiction

If you are even a little bit in (or willing to be) to the spiritual world, this book is a must read.

The story is full of imaginative narratives and only gets more enthralling as you read on. The inquisitiveness of the protagonist's mind may very well be reflected in yours; that's when you will enjoy reading this book to the fullest. It may even be life changing for few, making you question some subtle realities which we have been oblivious to hitherto.

The narration is fluid, so is the lan...

    An Amazing Journey

It's not always that you read a good book. A book that transforms you and makes you think. 'The Seeker' does just that. From the streets of New York to the Himalayas is a journey not everyone seeks. Like the winning side on a chess board, Karan had placed his characters and the destinations in the right place.

This book was not only a good read but also something that will help rediscover yourself.

A movie in the making for sure.

Thanks Karan for sharing your Himalayan experience and the ...
