‘The Accused’ is the third book in the Theodore Boone series by John Grisham although this is the first Theo book that I have read. The book is meant for young readers introducing them to amateur detective investigations. Although it was a pleasant reading, I would prefer a Hardy Boys over this book any day.
The book opens with the court proceedings of a high profiled murder case where we are also introduced to this young teenager Theodore Boone , who has a keen interest in legal matters. You see this son of accomplished lawyers paddling around the city attending his school and court proceedings. One thinks that the story would revolve around this high profile murder and Theo’s involvement in the same. But instead he finds himself being a victim of a theft conspiracy. How Theo clears his name with the help of his uncle and friends forms the basis of the book.
The book is good if you want to get your young children and teenagers in the habit of reading but might not appeal much to an adult reader. Overall I would say this book was 80 percent worth my money.
This third book in the Theodore Boone series follows the same logic of how Theodore tries to unlock the mystery of the case in which Theo is framed. One point which I didn't get much is, regarding the murder case, with which the story starts is not highlighted much or I shall say is not given prominence in the story line. Those who enjoyed the two books of Theo series, will enjoy this as well. Happy Reading
A good one for casual reading. The start and the finish was not same. The real story begin in half of the book. The murder story and the person with whom the story starts, appear no where in end and seems to be left in between.
The potrait of the main character - Theo Boone is good, but not that one to inspire.
