The Theory Of Machines, 3e

In my opinion Theory of Machines by Thomas Bevan is an outstanding text book for engineering students. I did my B. E. in Mechanical Engg. way back in 1967 from Walchand College of Engg. Sangli, Maharashtra State. In those days ELBS ( English Language Book Society) of UK brought out paperback edition of this book at an affordable price for Indian students pursuing Mechanical Engineering degree course. The book was first published in the year 1945 in UK as a hard back edition and it is still in print even after more than half century bears testimony to the fact that it is the best book on Theory of Machines. The dedication of the author is evident from the fact that the book is largely based on lectures given at the Manchester Institute of Technology. It also shows the highest quality of teaching standard followed by the Author.
The author has used simple language to make the students understand the basic principles. The derivation of different formulae starting from first principles is the highlight of this book. With easy to understand illustrations and diagrams, the book is a treasure in itself for Mechanical Engineers.
