Things To Do When You're Crazy

Things To Do When You're Crazy is an intriguing and twisted psychological thriller. It follows a man's journey into the asylum of his mind as he attempts to distinguish reality from fictional worlds. Living one life as a mundane lawyer, he catches his girlfriend cheating on him one day. The main character is suddenly thrown into a world of mental illnesses, dreams, paranoia, and experiments. Men wearing sunglasses, video cameras, mental hospitals, and a pyromaniac all add to the character's paranoia and trek for his life. As the character searches for answers to his past and present, the book delves into a person's dependency on societal standards, the nature of people to deny the truth and provide insight on the subjects that people take for granted every day. The character, Mr. Richards, blacks out and awakens in places and isn't sure how he got there. Every time he asks a question there is a beating around the corner and finds out that for every seemingly innocent question there are sublevels to his questions and more sublevels to sublevels. The only hints to his past are two feelings, twinges of nostalgia and fear, as he comes closer to his truth. As the reader becomes increasingly immersed in the story, the mind will not allow them to put it down until the last page and until they are sure that they, themselves, are not crazy. By the end of the book, the reader will smell fear and know nostalgia.
