Arshad Sami Khan sj was born on June 8,1942 and joined Pakistan Air Force in 1959. Adjudged the best pilot in 1961, he was awarded the 'Sitara-i-juraat' for exceptional courage and devotion to duty during the 1965 war. He served as Aide to three Presidents of Pakistan for a record six years from 1966 to 1972, a turbulent period in the history of Pakistan. One of the founding members of Khaleej Times, Arshad served the newspaper for ten years as its General Manger. Returning to the diplomatic courps, he was the Chief of Protocol during the tenure of one President and three Prime Ministers. He has the distinction of having served as the Ambassador of Pakistan to several countries, maily in the Scandinavian region.
