The Time Machine

What is  the stuff of eternity? Where does Time go? At what point in the infinite universe do things begin? And at what point are we able to see the end? These are the questions that H.G. Wells, the founder of modern science fiction, asks in this classic story of time travel. On the eve of the twentieth century, an enthusiastic scientist makes his experimental journey along the fourth dimension - time. Crash-landing in the year 802701, he finds a decadent master-race of indolent vegetarians, serviced from the underground by a community of restless slaves. Human society has been neatly divided into two groups who live above and below the ground and where work and learning - and hence material progress - have all ceased.
