Some of the titles in The Adventures of Tintin series are Tintin In America, Tintin in the Congo, and The Black Island.

Tintin in the Congo follows Tintin and Snowy, as they travel to the Belgian Congo for reporting the events occurring in that country. Amidst several encounters with wild animals and native Congolese, Tintin discovers a criminal syndicate of diamond smuggling operated by the American gangster Al Capone.

Tintin In America depicts Tintin and Snowy going to the United States of America, where he reports on the crimes happening in Chicago. There, he encounters a tribe of Blackfoot Natives, while pursuing a gangster across the country.

Tintin 3 In 1 Box Set (Set Of 8 Volumes), created by Herge, details all of Tintin’s adventures in a realistic manner. The hero, Tintin, is a young Belgian reporter who is helped by his loyal dog, Snowy. The plots are well-researched, and straddle an array of genres such as swashbuckling adventures having elements of mystery and fantasy, and even has a feel of the genres of science fiction and political thrillers. The stories displaying slapstick humour are offset by ample amount of sophisticated satire, and cultural and political commentary.

The Adventures of Tintin comic series first appeared in French in January 1929. The series featuring the comedic Captain Haddock, the detectives Thomson and Thompson, and Professor Calculus, is amongst the most renowned and highly influential European comics of the 20th century. It is popular even today, and has been published in more than 70 languages with sales of more than 200 million copies. The series has been adapted for television, theatre, radio, and film.

About Herge

Georges Prosper Remi was a popular Belgian cartoonist known by the pen name Herge.

Herge has also written The Adventures of Tom and Millie, Flup, Nénesse, Poussette and Piglet, They Explored the Moon, Mr. Bellum, Land of Black Gold, and Cigars of the Pharaoh.

Herge graduated from secondary school in 1925, and was employed as an illustrator at The Twentieth Century, a Belgian newspaper based in Brussels. The cartoonist was married twice, first to Germaine Kieckens, and then Fanny Vlamynck. He passed away in 1983.
