The adventures range from mysteries to science fiction. The stories contain humor and political satire which will keep readers of all ages glued to the book till the last page.

About the Author
Herg(Georges Remi) was born in Brussels on 22nd May 1907. His artistic pseudonym comes from his initials spelled backwards (R.G., as pronounced in French). Tintin : King Ottokar Sceptre

This is the 8th book in the series.

Here Tintin's adventure takes him to a country called Syldavian (made up country). and he helps the Monarch of the country remain in power. It got lots of attempts on Tintin's life and the usual intertwining plots.

Its a stand alone story, so you can buy this book as a stand alone book without reading the others before this.

Well Adventures of Tintin is a classic and if you have read them as a child and have misplaced and want to re-read do buy them or also pass it on to your children, nieces, nephews etc.. it makes a good gift.

Tintin is a great...

Tintin is a great collectable. If you are not of the type who reads then there is a set of VCD's / DVD available for 1/4th the price of buying the whole set of 24 books. I however recommend the individual 64 page book format as there are unmatchable to the legacy of Tintin.

Tintin: King Ottokar???s Sceptre

Another enjoyable adventure which sees Tintin and Snowy enmeshed in the political machinations of a small Balkan country, Syldavia, which is riven by internal strife and coveted by a militaristic neighbouring country. The politics of Europe of 1939, the time of first publication of this book, appears to have influenced Herg?? to the extent of partly basing this story on the Nazi annexation of Austria. However, Herge got the balance right here between real-world politics and the 'lighter' espionage and chase elements of the adventure. This adventure is also important as it develops a number... ()

However, Herge got the balance right here between real-world politics and the 'lighter' espionage and chase elements of the adventure. This adventure is also important as it develops a number of characters that are going to reappear in later ones, the most important being the country of Syldavia, as well as introducing the Milanese Nightingale, Bianca Castafiore.
