When an accused man is attacked more so by bias than the evidence of his crime, a lawyer will stand tall in order to establish justice. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning autobiographical novel by Harper Lee, directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Gregory Peck, John Megna and Frank Overton, To Kill a Mockingbird is a mystery crime-drama film that is considered to be one of the greatest movies to have ever been made! The plot of this motion picture that won three Academy Awards and three Golden Globes follows a highly respected lawyer who puts his career on the line after he takes up a case where he defends an African-American against an unjustly pinned rape charge.

A classic movie based on a classic novelI had read the novel by Harper Lee and was curious to see if the movie could reproduce the magic of the novel. Being a visual medium, a movie cannot be a replica of the written word but this movie comes pretty close. Performance by Gregory Peck is understated and the children in the movie have done an excellent job. Seems a little quaint to viewers used to the polished photography, camera angles and special effects of today's movies. But it more than makes up for this in its big hearted story. A must watch.
