Good Game....

I thought I would write a review on the product although I have not bought the product from Flipkart. It was an impulse buy I made at a mall when I was out shopping.

Pros:-
1. Interesting campaign with a long storyline.
2. Requires a high level of tactical maneuverability where you have to pick and choose targets carefully unlike Call of Duty or Battlefield which relies more on shooting prowess.
3. High level of weapon customization.
4. Co-op mode akin to Gears of War which makes the gameplay very absorbing.

Cons:-

1. The graphics are not refined. Facial features and terrain are not detailed.
2. The characters are not well developed.
3. The gameplay at some places is a little off but this is a minor irritant.

Overall, its a good buy and a good distraction for all the Call of Duty aficionados.

The most fun you can have legally playing a third-person shooter!

Visualize this: Saturday, 11:00 am.

You feel fresh and remind yourself that you have two full days ahead of you of nothing but delicious hard-core gaming!

You find yourself reaching for the best PS3 game in your collection, and what does that happen to be? In my case, without a doubt, it has to be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier!

What makes this game GREAT? Not good, not fun, but absolutely, undeniably and overwhelmingly GREAT?! Let's break it down:

Story-line
10.0/10.0
GRFS has an extremely engaging story, that places you, and your "ghost team" in the middle of the action spanning South America, Africa, Asia (Peshawar in Pakistan!!) and then Russia. There are tactical challenges that if unlocked reward you very nicely with weapons and add-ons like scopes, magazines etc. The story line itself is beautifully detailed; for example, when you are in Peshawar, you actually can see Pakistani movie posters, houses the way they'd look in Pakistan, mosques etc. The attention to detail is phenomenal.

Graphics/Gameplay
9.5/10.0
The new cover system works flawlessly; graphics are crisp, explosions look and "feel" like explosions (especially with your Sixaxis dual-shock controller), the flash from your gun while in full-auto mode is specific to the type of gun you are firing and is not generic, there is no lagging whatsoever. You can break down and customize your gun completely in "gunsmith" - right from the paint, to the trigger to the underbarrel to the muzzle to the optics!!! Finally, playing on "multi-player" is pure bliss! The 1/2 point deduction is because of "host migration" that happens once-in-a-while that resets the multi-player game, but this is not a deal-breaker.

Sound
10.0/10.0
If you don't feel you are in the middle of a war zone when you're playing this game, you need to upgrade your speakers! Period.

Re-playability
10.0/10.0
I had pre-ordered this game, and have been playing it religiously every weekend from the time it was released (3 months and counting!) I have completed the storyline on Elite (hardest)difficulty, and for the past 2 months been exclusively on multi-player. There are three classes of future soldiers you can choose from: Scout, Engineer and Rifleman. I first reached Level 50 and unlocked all the goodies playing an "Engineer', then I did the same playing a "Scout", now I am at level 36 on "Rifleman". There are 4 game modes: Conflict, Decoy, Saboteur and Seige. There is also a DLC that you can download for Rs 540, that adds 3 new maps and a new game-play type called "Stockade". Bottomline: The re-playability is simply astounding!

OVERALL
10/10.0
If you like the "shooting" genre (first or third person), then you need to own this game. If you do, and you play multi-player, look me up, my gamer-tag is "Ophidia". Let's put India on the online multi-player map!

Now stop reading and buy the game!

Futuristic Tactical Warfare

Ghost Recon Future Soldier has brought a radical change to the recent craze over First Person Shooters. Not only is this game very different from those, it turns out to be a good change too.

The game has a very immersive and long campaign that is characterized by a huge amount of tactical gameplay. Providing you with a huge arsenal of futuristic weapon technologies and gadgets, there is no one particular way to play the game and you may opt for a stealthy approach or a head-on firefight as and when you wish. The Gunsmith allows you the most deep customization of a weapon that has ever been seen. The graphics are pretty sharp except for a few texture problems here and there. There are a few AI glitches sometimes but that does not prove to be too big a problem.

Since the game is very new, a few problems are to be expected. Firstly, the online multiplayer modes are usually filled with connection issues. There seem to be a very small number of players online which causes problems. One very big issue that has been faced by players worldwide is that of a 'Yeti Fatal Error'. This error comes up on players screens while the game is loading and closes the game making it unplayable beyond that. Once it shows then it starts appearing every time after that. Although there is no official solution that has been offered by Ubisoft, there is an unofficial one that requires you to delete your save data after which one does not face the problem.

To conclude, I would like to say that this game is a good play for those gamers who would like a break from the usual Call of Duty franchise and would like to try something else that provides a more satisfying experience.

Really Awesome !!!

Got this game about a month back and I really have to appreciate
Flipkart for it's timely delivery :)
Really good graphics, sound and gameplay. I am half way through the single player campaign and I am still enjoying every bit of it :)
Yes, installation was indeed frustrating as it takes a really long time to update the game (almost 7 updates, possibly more than 1 GB). Once done, it's big treat !!!
If you cannot launch/update the game using launcher icon, launch it is using futuresoldier.exe icon. This works !!!
Also, there seems to be some frustrating issue for Nvidia GTX series users who run DX11. The game just freezes randomly every few mins and the driver stops responding at some point in the game. The only solution that worked for me is to reduce the core clock on the graphics card to stock settings (my overclocked Asus Nvidia GTX 570 was set to 742 Mhz, had to reduce it to 732 Mhz and also increase voltage to 1.038V). I used MSI Afterburner to do this. Clock speeds and voltages may vary for different cards.
Warning!!! Do this at your own risk and don't fry your card. Ensure you have adequate cooling.
Read in many forums that this was due to a badly coded game and was not fixed even in the latest patch. I am also using the latest Nvidia drivers (314.22).
That's all is needed to go nuke some terrorists !!!
Enjoy :)

Much BETTER than COD

Future Soldier opens in the year 2024 with a four-man Ghost Team call-signed "Predator", led by Joe Ramirez, deployed in Nicaragua to disrupt weapons trafficking in the region. Upon inspection of the convoy vehicles, a dirty bomb is remotely detonated, killing the team. Investigating the cause and tracking down the source of the bomb is tasked to another Ghost team call-signed "Hunter", consisting of Ghost Leader Captain Cedric Ferguson, Staff Sergeant John Kozak, Master Sergeant Robert "Pepper" Bonifacio, and Sergeant First Class Jimmy "30K" Ellison. The team ships out from Fort Bragg, North Carolina under the supervision of Major Scott Mitchell.
Mitchell informs the team of their new mission to rescue an arms dealer named Paez in Sucre, Bolivia who has information about where the bomb came from.[8] The team rescues Paez and then proceeds to follow the trail of weapons: First, to a refugee camp in Western Province, Zambia, where they eliminate local warlord Dede Macaba; to Nigeria, where they rescue CIA SAD agent Daniel Sykes from private military company Watchgate; to Peshawar, Pakistan, where they capture Russian arms dealer Katya Prugova; to the Kola Peninsula in Russia, where the team destroys an arms cache at a remote Arctic base; and finally to an airfield in Kaliningrad, where they intercept and destroy a missile guidance system, causing an international incident.
Some time later, a nuclear missile fired from Russia impacts London, but the nuclear warhead is eliminated at the last minute by the U.S. missile shield. The launch is traced to Dagestan and is believed to be the work of a rogue Russian special operations group known as Raven's Rock, of which Prugova was an associate, with ties to ultranationalist political elements in Russia. The team is ordered into Dagestan to rescue a Georgian Special Forces squad who went to investigate the launch site. During the rescue operation, the team is ambushed by Russian Spetsnaz that have access to high-tech equipment on the same level as the Ghosts, and it is later revealed that these soldiers are part of Russia's elite "Bodark" (werewolf) unit, which have sided with Raven's Rock.
this game gives us the experience of gadgets that will be used by soldiers in the future.....
one of the best games.... and the best one from tom clancys
and the bottom line is must buy!!!
