Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Reviews

Future Soldier opens in the year 2024 with a four-man Ghost Team call-signed "Predator", led by Joe Ramirez, deployed in Nicaragua to disrupt weapons trafficking in the region. Upon inspection of the convoy vehicles, a dirty bomb is remotely detonated, killing the team. Investigating the cause and tracking down the source of the bomb is tasked to another Ghost team call-signed "Hunter", consisting of Ghost Leader Captain Cedric Ferguson, Staff Sergeant John Kozak, Master Sergeant Robert "Pepper" Bonifacio, and Sergeant First Class Jimmy "30K" Ellison. The team ships out from Fort Bragg, North Carolina under the supervision of Major Scott Mitchell.
Mitchell informs the team of their new mission to rescue an arms dealer named Paez in Sucre, Bolivia who has information about where the bomb came from.[8] The team rescues Paez and then proceeds to follow the trail of weapons: First, to a refugee camp in Western Province, Zambia, where they eliminate local warlord Dede Macaba; to Nigeria, where they rescue CIA SAD agent Daniel Sykes from private military company Watchgate; to Peshawar, Pakistan, where they capture Russian arms dealer Katya Prugova; to the Kola Peninsula in Russia, where the team destroys an arms cache at a remote Arctic base; and finally to an airfield in Kaliningrad, where they intercept and destroy a missile guidance system, causing an international incident.
Some time later, a nuclear missile fired from Russia impacts London, but the nuclear warhead is eliminated at the last minute by the U.S. missile shield. The launch is traced to Dagestan and is believed to be the work of a rogue Russian special operations group known as Raven's Rock, of which Prugova was an associate, with ties to ultranationalist political elements in Russia. The team is ordered into Dagestan to rescue a Georgian Special Forces squad who went to investigate the launch site. During the rescue operation, the team is ambushed by Russian Spetsnaz that have access to high-tech equipment on the same level as the Ghosts, and it is later revealed that these soldiers are part of Russia's elite "Bodark" (werewolf) unit, which have sided with Raven's Rock.
this game gives us the experience of gadgets that will be used by soldiers in the future.....

I read great reviews of this game and I decided to try it out myself. The game took a lot of time to install and the worst of it all, it has Uplay feature enabled. I couldn't start the game until all the patches were installed. Nothing can be done if there's no internet connection. Now when the run the game from Uplay, all I get is a black screen and nothing happens. I have to open the Task Manager to kill the process which stops responding.

I tried checking online and apparently almost everyone who has a PC version of the game has this issue. Some have suggested some tips to fix it but I still haven't been able to get it working.

My advice is to think twice before buying this game title. I am not sure if I will get to play this at all and I have a very powerful laptop (i7, 8GB RAM, 2GB graphics etc.,).

Really good graphics, sound and gameplay. I am half way through the single player campaign and I am still enjoying every bit of it :)
Yes, installation was indeed frustrating as it takes a really long time to update the game (almost 7 updates, possibly more than 1 GB). Once done, it's big treat !!!
If you cannot launch/update the game using launcher icon, launch it is using futuresoldier.exe icon. This works !!!
Also, there seems to be some frustrating issue for Nvidia GTX series users who run DX11. The game just freezes randomly every few mins and the driver stops responding at some point in the game. The only solution that worked for me is to reduce the core clock on the graphics card to stock settings (my overclocked Asus Nvidia GTX 570 was set to 742 Mhz, had to reduce it to 732 Mhz and also increase voltage to 1.038V). I used MSI Afterburner to do this. Clock speeds and voltages may vary for different cards.
Warning!!! Do this at your own risk and don't fry your card. Ensure you have adequate cooling.
Read in many forums that this was due to a badly coded game and was not fixed even in the latest patch. I am also using the latest Nvidia drivers (314.22).
That's all is needed to go nuke some terrorists !!!

THIS GAME IS REALLY REALLY BAD EVERY TIME YOU HAVE TO LOG IN AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP DISC IN IT. THE GAMES SLOWS DOWN EVERY TIME DUE TO STUPID DRM. YOU HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER REALLY!!. AND THEN UBISOFT SAY THAT 95% WE PLAY PIRATED GAMES AND THEY THING THEY ARE WORTH OF NA. THEY PUT SHITI XBOX CONTROLLER PORT IN IT HOW RUBBISH ITS LIKE PLAYING A PS2 GAME ON PS3 ND XBOX GAME ON XBOX 360. THEY PIRATE THE GAMES BECAUSE ITS NOT WORTH OF 999 BUT IT WORTH OF 0.1 FOR PC.. I WONT PLAY ANY UBI GAME EVER. BUT BUY IF UR FOR XBOX ND PS3 BUT DONT FORGET BECAUSE OF PC CONSOLE WERE MADE

From what i've played it seems to be an awesome game. But the sad thing is the lag.
i got a nvidia gt 220 1gb graphics card
4 gb ram
i5 processor and windows 7.....e1 playing on minimal seetings i cant enjoy game.

First of all, this is my review. I appreciate the service of Flipkart that they deliver the game on the 3rd day of order.This game has superb singleplayer and breathtaking multiplayer if you have a good internet connection (especially for multiplayer). This game has best coop I played since now. You can play it singleplayer with your friends means on same story and level. You can do this by inviting your friends on singleplayer mode upto 4 players. And what I can say for the awesome Guerilla mode to improve your coordination with your friends and its customisation has upto a lot of combination you can choose, more than you can believe.

I have to say that this game has the good series of Ubisoft tom clancy's ghost recon.
If you want to buy a tactical shooter and invisible suit (camo) and bigger customisation, then you have to buy it.

I bought this game about 2 months back, and I must say, what a game ! It's a welcome change from the fast-paced FPS we see in the market today. The game pays a lot of attention to team-work and strategy, and there's no way you can dominate in multiplayer without a good team-based play. The weapons and graphics are good, but certainly not the best out there. Customization offers a wide variety of choices for every player-type ! It also offers a four-man Guerilla mode, which is awesome with friends around. All in all, a great package and a great game !

Guys...this is just an awesome game...playing since some time now and almost at the end of single player campaign...its futuristic tactical warfare at its best...it feels like u r in the battlefield...this game makes u think...not just a full blown out FPS in which u start shooting and go about ur objective...the cover system this game has is awesome and feels realistic...dont know if I can again start liking Call of Duty series after this...thats the only bad point abt this game according to me

Ran on a Sapphire HD 7770 GHz edition and AMD fx CPU4100......
Great gameplay..... Campaign Lasted for Aroung 10 hours only in Veteran mode...Storyline could have been more glossy and engrossing.
Anyways its a Game for my collection
