About Author :
K. Sankaran Nair was born on 20th December, 1920 at Ottapolam in Kerala state in an upper middle class Nair family of the district of Malabar. Hepassed his SSLC examination in 1936 and BC (Hons.) in 1941. He joined Indian Police (now Indian Police Service) in 1943 and worked as active police officer for seven years. In the year 1950, he was inducted in Intelligence Bureu (IB) and worked on various posts; sent to Ghana in 1959 to assist in functionng of their Foriegn Service Research Bureau (FSRB). He was the key person in forming the India's premier external intelligence agency called 'Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in 1968 and became its Secretary (Head) after RN Kao.
