Toshiba Satellite C640-X4012 Laptop (2nd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 500GB/ No OS) Reviews

In a few months of purchase, the display conked off and I had to get it replaced. Then the base cover has come off and the hard disk makes the weirdest noises. The Toshiba customer support team is comprised of the worst possible staff imaginable. My complaint has not been attended to for the last 20 days and everytime you call them they forward your number to another department where noone's to be found.

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP.

As always flipkart delivery was awesome, about the machine - i5, 2nd generation with 4gb ram and 500gb hdd
at this price is a steal but the built quality of laptop is not good.

I am not at all happy with the keyboard and touch pad buttons even the touch pad quality both of them makes noise when pressed.

Even the overall built quality of product is cheap.

Performance wise the laptop is very good brutal power even with graphic card you can play COD-4 on this machine.

I am a Big Fan of Toshiba Laptops and this one is amazing laptop to work on.
with second generation i5 processor and 500GB of Hard disk space it is a must buy for someone who wants to work on a good Laptop.
I already have another Laptop from Toshiba and it's been 2 and half year and still i haven't been to it's service center. and It's working perfectly Fine.

And this one is also working great. And I am planning to buy it again as a gift for my Brother.

Build Quality/Looks - you shouldn't expect sony/HP/Dell looks at this price. Still it is fine.Anyways i do not carry my laptop everywhere as they show in advertisements. And i knew exactly what i am going to order.

Screen/Display - It is awesome.+5

Other Stuff : front camera quality is good if not excellent(keep price in mind), only 2 USB port but for me that is enough.

OS: I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and this Beast OS works lightening fast with this hardware.+5

Except for the plastic casing(I owned a metal casing previously(HP Special Edition)), I don't see a point why you shouldn't try this one!

Pros :
- 4-5 hours battery back up
- 2nd Gen i5 Processor

Cons :
- External casing is plastic(You've to be careful)

NO DRIVERS. Need to download from toshiba website.
Keys are very flimsy. I prefer the rubberized keys.

No wifi access key

Buy it with a cooling pad. RHS can get hot.
I wish Toshiba could ship with drivers installation CD/DVD for all OS. That's not asking for much.

Overall its a smart buy considering the price & specifications offered.

I assure you friends this is the cheap priced laptop when compared to dell or HP.In quality aspect it sounds better.The only problem is the service centers u have very few.Except that, Toshiba simply the better one.The weight is only around 2.1Kg....Cool one Dude. Either go for Samsung or Toshiba or HP with an 14 inch screen .Dont go for small(10 inch) or a big screen(16 inch.Thanks to flipkart for helping in choosing an better one

I brought this Lap Top on Dec.11.
Its really a good one, about performance its really good.
The monus point i felt was

outer built quality is low.

Touch Pad makes noise when u click the button.

leaves finger prints very easily.

Apart from these its excellent (value for money)

I received this laptop on 31dec2011, its appearance good weightless. battery backup is 4 hours.
the rate also cheap.
the back pack is also goood.
bluetooth and wifi speed is very fast.
the keypad is very nice to type
