TP-LINK TL-MR3020 Portable 3G/3.75G/4G Wireless N Router Reviews

TP-LINK TL-MR3020 is a very poor device. STRONG RECOMMENDATION NOT TO BUY THIS. NOT CONNECTED WITH RELIANCE NET CONNECT. TP LINK SERVICE CENTRE'S NUMBERS NOT WORKING. DEVICE LYING AS A TOY WITH ME. FLIPKART SHOULD REMOVE THIS PRODUCT FROM THEIR WEBSITE. THEY SHOULD NOT DISPLAY PRODUCTS UNLESS AND UNTIL FULLY TESTED.

The product is awesome. Very easy to configure. Also user friendly. Here i.e. on FK website the OS specification is as under:

Operating System: Windows 7 and Above, Mac, Linux

However, let me clarify that it is even compatible with Windows XP (SP-2), as I am already using it comfortably.

Last, but not least Flipkart service (Packaging, delivery etc)is rocking as always.

@Flipkart: This was my first online purchase in India. Overall I am very much satisfied with the flipkart service. I received the product within 24 hrs after placing the order. Card on Delivery was simply great. Shipping details, tracking and packing of the product was good.
@TP Link: After struggling for around an hour everything started working fine. I am using this with Tata Photon+ dongle (2G, Black Color, Docomo printed on top). Thanks to reviewers because I relied upon them for dongle compatibility before purchasing this router.
Only one thing I have noticed so far - Wi-Fi Coverage is little less (because there is no separate antenna); If you will go to another room signal strength will be around 60-70%. But it works fine.
@Dongle Configuration: The SSID and Password are printed on the router body. Once you start the router, connect your laptop using those credentials. There won’t be any issue in connecting the Laptop/Tab to router wi-fi network. Problem comes for internet connectivity via dongle. You certainly need to perform following steps:
1.Open the router admin page (open ‘192.168.0.254’ in browser).
2.Go to quick setup, click next and select the dongle (Tata Photon+). It would point to some other service provider initially.
3.Click next and configure SSID name, password etc if you want (Optional).
4.Click on Finish and reboot the Router.

I use Tata Photon+ (EC1260) which is one of the oldest device ever since it was introduced. I thought it might not work but it did excellently. I thought the set up would be a hassle and would consume a lot of time, but it didnt. I set up in 5 mins! And Lo, Internet is up and running...In fact the internet speed is much faster than when i directly plugged the device into usb port of my computer. As I use Ipad mini as well i can connect it to both in this and my laptop. My roommate said that the device looks like an apple product because it is white and really neat!! The only improvement i would suggest is to have an inbuilt battery instead of plugging it into computer or power adapter every time you want to use it.

Delivery was almost on time (delayed by one day)

At the outset thumbs up for flipkart delivery!!...got the product safely and in a bubble wrapped package in 3 days!!

I have seen this device at my cousin's place, and must say I simply got attracted to this little wonder.
I am using a Tata Photon+ (Olive ME102...old model) and vide this portable gadget, now I am able to connect my smartphone, laptop and tablet at same time anywhere portably.
The setup as instructed in the product manual is simple and illustrative, 3G dongle was detected instantly and the task got completed in a couple of minutes and this little device started emitting the seamless streams of digital signals....:-)

A must have gadget for all those who want to use their Tata Photon(s) and similar devices(you may also check compatibility section at manufacturer's website and trust me it supports more than what is listed over there).

Will expect a successor to this gadget with an inbuilt rechargeable battery at competitive pricing.

I bought this router from snapdeals coz it is cheaper there. Anyways I am using a Tata Docomo Photon+ (MF190, ZTE). This modem is by default not supported. You need to upgrade the firmware of the router. The required update you won't get on TP-Link site. Here is a link where you can find it:

Without this update the router will identify the 3g dongle but it will stuck in a loop of connecting -> disconnected(unplugged) -> identifing -> connecting -> .......

After the update it works like a charm. Signal strength is fairly decent. Good for a 800-1000 sq. ft. house.

I ordered this router 21 days ago from the time of writing this review. Got it in 3 days, though i expected it in 2. Packing, as usual was excellent and product was well sealed, the invoice was a bit crumpled in the box though, this time.
It is the perfect product if you want a wireless access point for your smartphone/tablet/lappie etc. and have a supported USB modem.(I use it with Tata photon+, Huawei EC-1262 and results are amazing: better and more reliable internet connectivity than using the modem directly with computer!).
Range is excellent, I get good signal strength in all the rooms of my home, so I would say the range is around 10 metres for workable signal stregth(only my estimate). It can also work as a wireless access point if you have a broadband connection and has WPS capabilities.
Quite easy to set up, and recognized my modem quickly, i didn't even need to use the provided resource CD.
Most important: It can be plugged into the LAN port of your computer providing internet wirelessly as well as in wired mode to your computer simultaneously. (Biggest advantage acc, to me).
ONLY DEMERIT would be the absence of its own power supply(i.e. battery), it needs power either through AC adapter or through one of your computer's USB ports, that could be a deal breaker for some.

For those of you who would like to convert their USB Dongle Modem to a Wi-Fi Hotspot at a relatively low cost, this is definitely the product to go for. Delivery was prompt, quality is good and setup a breeze.

I bought this from a local store and tried to connect it with my Reliance Netconnect AC2736 ZTE Dongle. I setup everything , also my laptop is connected to Wifi, but I m not able to access internet. Did someone faced same issue. Pls help me to resolve this problem

Looks like an Apple product! Very compact, nice looking product. But configuring is a nightmare if your luck is bad. I have a ZTE MF190 modem with TATA DOCOMO sim. This modem is listed in their compatibility list, but it is not recognized by the router.
The customer support of TP-Link india is pathetic. I am trying the resolve the issue from past 10-12 days, result is none.
