Trade And Environment In Thailand: An Emerging Economy

The complex interrelationship between trade and environment has become a focal point for international as well as national policy makers. Standards economic theory assumes that free trade leads to a win-win situation of all players participating in international trade. However, free trade has an overall positive or negative impact on the environment.

Kakali Mukhopadhyay earned her M.Phil and PhD degree on energy and environmental economics from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India. After completing her Ph.D. she joined the Centre for Development and Environment Policy, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, first as a post-doctoral fellow and later on as a full time Visiting Assistant Professor.
