Book: Training Horses: Guiding Your Child Toward A First Place Finish Training Horses is both a clever story of a brother and sister learning life lessons while training their first horses and a behavior modification tool for parents. In an inspired way of grabbing childrens attention, Training Horses celebrates our individual gifts from God and compares them to horses. Well-trained horses are beautiful blessings, while untrained horses can be destructive. After enjoying this story, children and parents will want to identify and train horses (or behaviors) in their own lives. Changing unacceptable behavior has never been so easy. Many parenting books and workshops give concepts or ideals for the family but lack specific tools for each situation with every child. In Training Horses, Deahdra-Lynn Atencio gives parents and children that practical tools needed to apply the positive principles each family believes in. Author Deahdra-Lynn Atencio is a happily married, home educating mother of four children. Her parents taught her early the love and respect for children through the licensed family day care they have had in their home for nearly forty years. The knowledge and experience she received there inspired her to work more with children, starting with babysitting jobs and working up to managing the nursery for a local health club. While getting her degree in Sign Language studies, Deahdra-Lynn was privileged to be an aid at the California School for the Deaf, Fremont. She and her husband, Mark, currently reside in Gilbert, Arizona, where they enjoy serving at their church, raising their great kids, and the gorgeous Arizona sun.
