Transcend PF730 Digital Photo Frame

Nowadays, nobody take the printouts of pictures we take with our digital cameras. We just save, edit and view them in our laptops or smartphones or tablets. In my home, my parents don't have any of these devices to view our pictures. So I bought it for my parents and I am happy to say that it made a wonderful gift to them.

Pros:
1. 2 GB internal memory is very good (no need for SD cards).
2. Remote control is included (batteries also provided).
3. File transfer is very easy (cut and paste, just like we do
with a pendrive).
4. Display clarity should be mentioned (Most others in this
price range will give only 480x234)
5. Music can be played in the background while viewing the
photos(some mp3 files also should be copied to the device).
It makes the device more appealing.
6. Slideshow mode and per picture mode are present. Zoom can
also be used.
Cons:
1. The device can be operated using the AC adapter only (but,
all other digital photo frames are like that too).

Verdict:
I would suggest to all the people who may be interested to buy a digital photo frame to go for this one as it is very cost effective with all the features included. Also since most of our pictures printed from studios will mostly be 6"x4" or 7"x5" sizes, at least go for a 7" display screen (like this one), then you will find that this is really a substitute for a photo album.

Good value for money. Looks good. Few photo frames provide such a good resolution in this price range. Comes equipped with a remote control which makes it very easy to use the device. Has a good feature set, slideshow feature is good too.

It does it's main job of displaying photos very well. Photos appear crisp and vibrant. There is an inbuilt 2 GB storage and it also supports a variety of memory cards and USB drives as well. It can also play audio and video, though i must say the speaker is offers below par performance. Although the sound quality is acceptable, the loudness is just not enough.

The main issue is the sluggishness of the UI. Even while scrolling through the image thumbnails, there is a noticeable lag, more so when the images are of higher resolution. However, one would rarely operate the frame frequently to feel terribly annoyed by this issue. The slideshow on the other hand, is fairly fluid. The UI overall, leaves a quite some refinement to be desired.

On the whole, once again, a fine product from Transcend.

1. 800X600 resolution is unmatched in its class.
2. Great price offer by Flipcart (Much cheaper than shops)
3. Orientation sensor & 2GB inbuilt is a killer combo.
4. Video support.
5. Viewing angles are very good (horizontal, vertically still it is pretty good but doesn’t match its horizontal performance), as good as a modern LCD.
6. Brightness and contrast are very good & adjustable
7. Remote control

Con’s
1. Wish it had a battery support, works only with the AC adapter.
2. During the slideshow the transition is not the smoothest
3. I would have preferred a touch screen interface instead of buttons behind.
4. Volume is really low

To me it’s the best possible DPF available in the market that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket without compromising with quality.

JUST RECEIVED YESTERDAY. AFTER USING IT I MUST SAY THIS IS THE BEST DPF AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET IN 7 INCH CATAGORY WITH LOTS OF FEATURES WHICH OTHER BEST COMPANY LIKE SONY AND PHILIPS ARE NOT PROVIDING AT THE PRICE TAG. DISPLAY IS CRISP AT 800X600 PIXCEL . VIDEO PLAY IS SMOOTH BUT SOUND IS LOW, BUT IT IS DESIGNED FRO BACK GROUND MUSIC WHICH SHOULD NOT BE LOUD AT THE TIME OF PHOTO SLIDE SHOW. PUT SOME GOOD PIANO OR INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC IN IT AND IT WILL KEEP ON PLAYING THE SAME FOR THE WHOLE DAY IN THE ROOM. REMOTE IS WELL DESIGNED. BUT 3500/- WILL BE THE BEST PRICE FOR IT. SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE BATTERY BACK UP IN IT TO USE IT AS A FULL HAND HELD DESIGN.

FLIPKART SERVICE IS GOOD AS ALWAYS

The Digital Photoframe of Transcend is the best available in the market for the price. It plays music,videos and has a decent calender,clock and alarm functions. Slideshow feature should meet all requirements. Remote has all necessary functions. Colors available are white and black and both are of good finish.Only drawback is the lack of a standby battery power supply (works only on mains). Otherwise an excellent product recommended for gifts and mementoes.
