  • Description

Many will remember the unfortunate incident of 3000 members of a minority community being slaughtered in a span of 3 days in 1984. It is an event that stands out even in a country that is accustomed to mass violence. It has been more than twenty years now and none of the accused have been punished. There have only been extended inquiries and trials.

    Summary of the Book

The massacre of the Sikhs had happened during the time of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination. The incident was a reality check on the institutions of the rule of law in India that were hyped at the time. This book attempts to uncover the truth that is told on the basis of evidence. Most of this evidence came to light during the proceedings of the most recent judicial enquiry that was conducted by the Nanavati Commission. The authors are among the people who have the most amount of knowledge on the subject and provide us with a detailed account of the truth with insights and revelations on the horrific incident of 1984 and its aftermath.

    a must read book

This is a must read book. What i love about the book is that there is no rhetoric at all. only plain facts are narrated in a factual reportage. no emotional appeal is made for anger or retaliation or anything. but those cold facts chill you to your bone. suddenly, you dont want to believe that you are living among the perpetrators of this and still alive.

    ****DONT READ THIS NOVEL*****

Yes, you saw it right. Dont Read it.
    Because,
This book uncovers all the real facts about the carnage in 1984. It iterates how a massacre was a scheme to avenge Indira Gandhi's Death from the helpless sikhs and how the govt and the related people 'taught sikhs a lesson'.
The First part will bring you chills in between while reading the first hand stories of the victims, the rapes, burning alive etc.
The Second part unveils the real accounts of how the INDIAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM was made inefficac...

    Excellent book

This is one book if you want to know everything about Sikh carnage that took place in 1984 under the watch of Rajeev Gandhi government. The way this book describes apathy of govt towards its own citizen will make you raise question about India's democratic and secular credentials. Also a chilling account of cover up done by governments and helplessness of judiciary.

Mr. Phoolka has done a commendable job as its author. The writing style, language and content everything is remarkable.
