Author had given a very good account of Indian Heritage since from the ancient to modern in every aspect.... I enjoyed the book and it is more than sufficient for CSE

This is indeed an authoritative and comprehensive book on Indian Culture.Gives a holistic view in a systematized manner and is cohesive.A good on Indian Culture was much sought after in wake of UPSC preparations and this book fills that void.A must read for all UPSC aspirants.One drawback is there that there are no diagrams which would have been quite useful especially in Art & Architecture section

A good attempt has been made to include the various facets of Indian culture. But in this attempt most of the important things have been left behind. The book lacks in full coverage of the topics which is important for the UPSC multifarious point of view. A good choice may be Spectrum's publication one.
Half of the book is permeated with the single choice multiple choice (most of them) questions which automatically reduces the space for the coverage of topics.
