About Author :
B.S. Bisht obtained his Post-Graduate Degree (1977), Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (1982) and Degree of Doctor of Letters (1995) from the University of Kurnaun, Nainital. Since 1978 he has actively been involved in teaching (postgraduate course), research and extension activities. As a pioneer social scientist. Dr. Bisht is known for his contribution in the field of research of the tribal communities like, Rajis(the cave dwellers of Uttaranchal), Tharus and Buxas (the agriculturist tribes of Uttarancahl Tarai), the Bhotyas (the traditional traders of Indo-Tibetan Border of Uttaranchal) and the Jaunsari-Khasas (the polyandrous tribal community of Jaunsar Bavar) of Uttranchal Himalaya.
