UGC CSIR NET / SET (JRF & LS) Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship: Chemical Sciences is a guidebook focusing on Chemical Sciences, to help aspirants prepare for the NET and SET.
Summary Of The Book
UGC CSIR NET/ SET (JRF & LS) Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship: Chemical Sciences, published in 2012, has been designed for candidates who are planning on writing the National Education Test and State Eligibility Test, better known as the NET and SET examinations, respectively. The NET is conducted at the national level. The science and engineering tests are jointly conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and University Grants Commission. The state level counterpart for the NET is the SET, and a candidate can join an university only within the state in which he or she has written the exam.
The paper of Chemical Sciences consists of four sections, namely Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Interdisciplinary topics. The last one covers subjects like environmental chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and chemistry in nanoscience and technology. UGC CSIR NET/ SET (JRF & LS) Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship: Chemical Sciences explains topics like p-block elements, nuclear chemistry, thermodynamics, inner transition elements, photochemistry, chemical kinetics, and aromaticity. Students preparing for the competitive exams will also come across chapters like Noble Gases, IUPAC Nomenclature of Organic Compounds, Quantum Mechanics or Wave Mechanics, Organometallic Compounds, and Molecular Spectroscopy. The theory ends with interdisciplinary topics. To familiarize readers with the exam format, the book includes three solved question papers from June 2011, December 2011, and June 2012. Sample questions from the CSIR website has also been incorporated into this guidebook.
UGC CSIR NET/ SET (JRF & LS) Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship: Chemical Sciences will guide candidates to comprehensively understand the theory, and test themselves by solving the question sets.
