The setup may seem simple, but it will leave Nathan running for his life as he encounters various enemies who are after the same relics. Thinking smart and beating his opponents with wit rather than just muscle power, Nathan has to embark on an epic quest that will test his survival skills to the hilt. Are you ready for a new Nathan Drake adventure?
The 4th instalment in the Uncharted series is also the first entry in the handheld gaming console. The game is targeted towards hard-core gamers who are fans of the series. The action-adventure video game has many new tweaks that help improve the gameplay. Uncharted: Golden Abyss game card is available for the PlayStation Vita gaming console and carries a Teen rating from ESRB.
Synopsis and Features
Dark secrets are hidden inside the dense jungles of Central America. Drake’s long-time friend, Jason Dante, needs help to uncover those secrets. Drake is sceptical, but teams together with Dante on his mission. As he travels deep into an unknown territory, Drake gets attacked by many enemies and he has no idea how they reached there. Trying to uncover all the mysteries surrounding him, Drake has to separate the lies from the truth while also fighting for his life.
Developed by SCE Bend Studio with additional help from Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Uncharted: Golden Abyss will keep you up for hours at night with its engaging gameplay. The single-player mode in the game will take you across the beautiful forests in Central America that are surrounded with mountain ranges, ruined temples and many other things. You have to move carefully as one wrong step can kill you without warning. The game is engaging to play as you can swing from ropes, make death-defying leaps and more.
The puzzle-based gameplay has been tweaked as you now have to put together maps, match symbols to open doors, take charcoal rubbings of artefacts and others. The touchscreen on the back of the PS Vita enhances the interactive aspect as you will have to use the controls several times to get Nathan out of dangerous situations.
There are a variety of weapons at your disposal that you can use to silence your enemies. These include pistols, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, machine guns and many others. The animations in the game are smooth flowing as you will feel the recoil when you shoot bullets at your opponents. As said earlier, Golden Abyss is all about strategizing before acting. You will succeed a lot more if you plan your attack before going guns blazing in front of your enemies. This also enhances the excitement factor in the game.
If you like exploring or are a fan of collectibles you are in for a treat as you can search for a lot of hidden items in Golden Abyss. You can exchange collectibles with other players from across the world using Near: a social networking application exclusive for the PlayStation Vita. The Black Market option in the game will help you in finding some rare collectibles that are not easy to find. Treasure Map DLC is available for the game and adds a treasure map for each chapter, allowing players to easily locate collectibles in the game.
If you have played Uncharted before then you most certainly have noticed the array of awesome graphics especially the sun and the water flowing through the character's feet. You most certainly might also have noticed prolonged missions added by the mysteries and treasures you find along the way giving it almost 10/10 in every Uncharted you have played including Drake's Deception.
You will not miss any of those in this version plus you get a bagful of more mysteries and treasures which are designed specifically for gameplay in the PS Vita.
This game is every bit as good as any Uncharted titles plus it has some unique features such as taking photos to find mysteries and using the rear touch pad which is all in all a delight.
If you own a PS Vita and do not own this thinking why pay more for just one game, you are making a mistake. This is a MUST have for any Uncharted or Vita or both fan.
Value for money 10/10
Got this game as a bundle offer with the console (not from flipkart). Having played a couple of other PS Vita games and having ben disappointed, tried this game. The graphics was indeed very good. The game play too is good. Though over a period of time you seem to keep doing more or less similar things, it still has enough to keep your interests. It does make use of most of the PS Vita features and hence is worth the money paid. The best game so far I have played on the Vita.
Story line 4/5
Using PS Vita Features 5/5
I felt this was worth the price paid.
Awesome game. It is missing those awesome jaw dropping set pieces(which is the hallmark of the Uncharted series), however adds some good touch screen n gyro functionality. However get it from PSN for significantly lesser. Ditto for all other Vita games(except for FIFA). You would have to be really stupid to get these games in retail. The difference is never lesser than ten dolls.
Best third person action adventure game on a handheld
Trophy hungry gamers have a lot to look out for
Production value to match a summer blockbuster
Well-paced gameplay between traversing, action and puzzles
Low replay value
Story gets a bit boring in the middle
Some touch controls can get frustrating
The game is just awesome.Graphics is beautiful and OLED screen of PS Vita makes it even more better.Nathan Drake is an adventure guy with a mind like do first think later. The setpieces are too good.
