Book: Uncommon Views Of Common Verses
This volume shows the author's special insight into the hidden treasures found only when one seeks the Lord with all his heart.

John H. Hill grew up in a small, rural community in central North Carolina. As a boy he listened as his father related stories from the Bible that bred in him a desire to learn more of God and His Word. His father told of heroes and villains, of God and salvation, and of a love that transcends all human understanding. At the time, John did not realize how influential his father's teaching would be in his life; but, it excited a passion for God that brought him through some turbulent teen years and to a deep admiration for the God of Creation. Uncommon Views of Common Verses is a product of that deep hunger that shows the author's special insight into the hidden treasures found only when one seeks the Lord with all his heart. John is also the author of Foundations: A Commentary on Genesis 1 - 10. John lives in Summerville, SC with his wife Nancy and two daughters: Lindy and Kaylee. He has pastored First Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1991. Who was between the cherubim outside the Garden of Eden? Did Job's wife really ask him to curse God? Who was Ruth's nearest kinsman? Can I really dump coals of fire on the heads of my enemies? Did Adam and Eve really become as gods by eating of the fruit? So often, we read over verses without stopping to think and at other times, verses or phrases seem to reach out and grab us. This book presents some of the special spots in Scripture that have latched themselves to the author. Uncommon Views of Common Verses offers fifty-two short studies from a Scriptural but uncommon view. All Scripture portions are handled with careful Scriptural exegesis, from a literal perspective, but offering a different look than is common.
