Excellent Book
First, don't even think of buying this book of you like books that you can sit back and read. This is a very hands-on approach book that requires active participation. The examples are excellent though some commands don't work on modern systems. The Program Development Chapter is a nightmare but an amazing experience nonetheless. Good Quality for a Low Price
I am very happy with the publisher of this book, for providing such a great book with quite superb binding. The paper quality is acceptable, though I'd have liked for the paper to be a bit thicker so that the text on the back of the page wasn't slightly visible on the front, as it is now. Good book , not excellent.
If you want to learn unix then you can use this book but the language used is a bit different WRT other unix book.however have rated 4 because of the content and coverage.

Good book but not for a Beginner who have no any concept in UNIX

Recommended for anyone who wants to write any unix-y program
Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike are the de facto authorities on this subject.
Pros:
- Extremely light, fast read
- Best if partnered with an accompanying program that you intend to write
